We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Koziol and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Scott, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Art, love, rhythm, movement, harmony, inspiration. A consistent practice of healthy eating, exercise, rest, and study.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a Bass Player, I’ve recorded/toured with Linkin Park, Tinsley Ellis, Dopesick, Kottonmouth Kings, and others. I have also worked as a technologist with Apple, Discovery Communications, Avid Technology, Troxell, and others. I specialize in the area of education. Check out my educational essay, “Timing is Everything – Never underestimate the power of Rock and Roll”, on Medium. https://link.medium.com/B2IuQB57g3
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Check local listings and you’ll find live music around town. Favorites include “Soundcheck Live”(last Wednesday of the month) & “First Fridays” (first Friday of the month) @ Lucky Strike Hollywood, “The Sunset Jam” @ The Viper Room on Mondays, “Ultimate Jam Night” @ The Whisky on Tuesdays. There is so much great food in LA. I go to my local Farmers Market every week. Meals by Genet is a treat. http://mealsbygenetla.com. Over/Under Public House is a new favorite. https://www.overunderburbank.com.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Trying to do everything on your own can be a lonely road. There have been plenty of great folks that have helped me along the way. I am grateful for the love.
