Meet Irina Sopranzetti | Owner of Sopranzetti

We had the good fortune of connecting with Irina Sopranzetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Irina, how do you think about risk?
Starting my own business at the age of 21 was one of the biggest risks I have ever taken. I kept reminding myself that failure is a huge possibility when starting a business at such a young age, but I’ll never know if it can be successful until I try. I ended up quitting my full time job, and never looked back. That’s the risk I took, and I haven’t regretted it since.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I named my business after my last name. When I was younger I always said I want the world to know my name, so of course I had to start a clothing brand called “Sopranzetti.” It definitely wasn’t easy to start a business, and it still isn’t. Everyday, every week, every month there’s new obstacles. But every obstacle is a new learning experience. A huge part of starting a business is mindset. Failure, and mistakes will happen. Again and again and again. The way you perceive those failures and mistakes is what will motivate you to not give up.I made sure to NEVER perceive any road block as a negative, but instead a learning opportunity.
A huge goal of mine is to make sure each customer knows the face behind the brand. I put effort into having a personal connection with my audience, and customers allowing them to have a meaningful experience when shopping with my business. I want my customers to feel inspired, and motivated when wearing my clothes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my best memories I have was traveling to the city with a group of friends having zero itinerary, and seeing where the day took us. We would go with no plan at all, BUT I always say “you never know who you’re going to meet in the city, so always dress to impress.” The city is filled with opportunity.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my father. He has been the number one motivator in my life that helped inspire me at such a young age to take those risks, and start my own brand. I told him at the age of 13 that I wanted to start my own clothing company, and he has supported me ever since to make that dream of mine happen.
I also want to shoutout every single person that has supported my journey since the start. 100% of my sales in the beginning of launching my clothing brand was from family and friends. That helped motivate me more to keep pushing on growing my business. I will forever be grateful for each individual that has helped me get to where I am today.
