We had the good fortune of connecting with Folajimi Famosaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Folajimi, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
When people say “work smart not hard “ I feel like it’s often misunderstood/ misinterpreted by most. I definitely agree with the idea of working smart but you still have to work hard and especially in the media world you have to work even harder ( put in longer hours , work , effort into your craft ) to either get more work done or improve on your craft.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a glamour / fashion photographer and free lance retoucher based in Nyc. It’s been a continual learning process for me , I love the idea of learning new techniques or ways to better & expedite my process. I take pride in making my subjects ( models / clients ) look their best in front of my camera and not just with the edits. Shooting / working with me isn’t just a mere photoshoot but a whole experience which I highly recommend for everyone.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big s/o to the team at Rainbow studios ( Lagos , Nigeria ) for putting me on and helping better my craft + giving me access to the their studio where I learnt most of my basic lighting , retouching and many other techniques.
