We had the good fortune of connecting with Miriam Garcia Rosas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miriam, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea of having a business started because I was not able to find a job after graduating from college. I graduated with a bachelors of Graphic Communications from CSULA and since I did not have any prior experience it was really difficult to find the dream job that I wanted. After six months of applying I decided to take a break and stay at my job during that I had at that time. The idea of opening a bsuiness literally pop up in my head one morning mid pandemic, I said to myself “why not start a business? What’s the worst that can happen?” I love fashion, I love design and I did not wanted to keep working for someone else. I wanted a job that I would love and enjoy doing everyday, a job that had to do with design and fashion. So without any background of what it took to run a business or any idea of how to start one I started to do my research on google and YouTube. Everything that I needed was there. I learned almost everything that I needed by doing my research on google and watching videos and that’s how I learned almost everything that I know now. I used my savings to get started and HoneyGalFash was born. Which this year 2022 it turns 2 years in November and never in a million years thought I would be that person who owns a business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
HoneyGalFash is a boutique that is owned by a Latina who was born in Veracruz, Mexico and is for the women who loves to be fashionable yet comfortable and with an effortless look. HoneyGalfash main priority is their audience, the main goal is to provide the most comfortable looks with the best quality and at the best price. I personally love to dress fashionable but at the same time comfortable and that’s what I want to provide to my audience because I know we all love a comfortable outfit. The road to where I am today has been a rollercoaster, just as everything in life some days are amazing others are discouraging because not every day is a successful day and mainly when you’re a small business. The hardest part in my journey has been motivation, there has been days when I want to give up and not keep going because the road is hard. But then I think o myself how hard I been working, I am where I’m at because I been working hard and I can’t let myself down. The saying that always motivates me is “If owning a business was easy everyone would be doing it” then I snap back and keep pushing through. Having a business is not an easy thing to do, as a small business you are doing around five jobs at the same time and it can get tiring at some point but being your own boss and doing what you love is very motivational.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend is visiting for a week, I would take them for some brunch at Ola that is a few minutes from home in Downtown Covina. Grab some coffee at Tierra Mia here in Pomona, have night out in downtown Pomona, visit Bonelly Park for a relaxing afternoon. Go watch a movie at the drive in, then end the night by grabbing some in n out by the house.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
HoneyGalfash has been growing a lot during the past year and a half, there is so many people that have played a role with my business growth such as my family, friends, pop up events and social media. However, one of the major supports lately have been doing pop up events they have helped me grow tremendously from meeting many business owners to meeting my girls who support my business. They are @calidreammarket and @shopsmallsoiree on instagram, the energy these both groups have towards small business is in another level. I started participating at their pop up events early this year and it has been an amazing experience, the girls who host both markets are amazing and so supporting of each business owner.
