Meet KAREN & TONY BARONE | Artists

We had the good fortune of connecting with KAREN & TONY BARONE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KAREN & TONY, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is our lifelong collaboration … the merging of our talents and our hearts. We live, love and create together … as an artist couple we have become identified as a unique brand working in fine art, sculpture, public art installations, environmental sculpture, painting & performance art videos.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We specialize in creating art in public places … thousands of people encounter & experience our art everyday.
What sets our art apart … it is whimsical, approachable, universal & colorful and frequently has a philanthropic mission. Its larger-than-life execution challenges ones sense of reality & scale … female Superheros are 9 feet tall … rabbits, gorillas, jaguars, dogs & cats are 6 to 10 feet tall … upon encountering them one is brought to pause and placed in an Alice-in-Wonderland sense of reality.
We are most excited about the opportunity of being able to wake each day hitting the ground running and making art together.
One of the things that sets us apart is our strong philanthropic requirements of ourselves … we believe art can make the world a better place.
We are sure there were challenges along the way … however we failed to dwell on them and always kept leaping forward … we are proud of a lifelong passion for art and each other.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would take them to the Karen & Tony Barone Coachella Valley Art Tour Ap on our website (BaroneArt.com) … to tour 20 sites in the Coachella Valley featuring 37 of our sculptures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’ve had the great fortune of meeting with success at an early age because of loving families who were supportive of our talents & aspirations … followed by wonderful educators. The minute we met we started traveling the world together visiting art capitals and immersing ourselves in the experience & knowledge of various exotic & advanced cultures. We were privileged to work alongside some of the most creative minds in business, industry & the arts. We wish to credit each and every artist whom have come before us & increased our knowledge.
