Meet Jeremy Clark | Motivational Speaker, Mindset Coach, & Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After years of schooling obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, I naturally presumed my combined higher education would guarantee me innumerable ways to be successful in life. I was always told growing up that I would be set once I get my degree and a high-paying job to support myself. Well once my degrees led me to the lucrative corporate career path I felt disillusioned and dissatisfied with unrewarding work. I would later experience involuntary job loss in the middle of the pandemic which forced me to reevaluate my entire life. I asked myself a few questions: Did I choose the wrong major? What are my strengths? What am I grateful for? What do I want out of life? and What can I do today? These questions combined with my affinity for using positive affirmations in my life lead me to write and publish my first book: “Did You Know? You Are The Shit!: Positive Affirmations to Overcome Self-Doubt” The idea of wanting to take control of my own life and be successful in my own way has always intrigued me, and writing this book clarified my purpose on this earth: to motivate people to master their emotions to take control of their life and live the life they deserve no matter their circumstance. I am now living in my purpose as a motivational speaker giving practical steps to people on how to find and fight for their purpose.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other motivational speakers is the fact that I’m not speaking at you from a mountaintop of success like I have achieved everything I’ve ever wanted, rather I am speaking from a place that’s in the battle with you. I want you to understand I experience the same emotions toward achieving goals that you do, I just so happen to have a philosophy for mastering the emotions that allow me to overcome obstacles. The goal is not to hype you up without substance to achieve your goals, the goal is to give you proven practical steps that I’ve learned to give you a plan of action to achieve your goals. Instead of raising your already high potential and ceiling, I’d rather you raise your floor and the values and concrete work that you stand on. I am most excited to share the philosophies that I spent years learning, creating, tinkering with, and reworking to give people a practical understanding to use so they can take control of their life and create a fulfilling future.
Getting to this point was not easy and it definitely wasn’t a career path I saw for myself when I entered college. My only concern in college was making sure I got a high-paying job, but I failed to factor passion and fulfillment into my career choice. When I got to the point where I was making money doing something I had no passion for, I was miserable. I didn’t have a solid “why?” outside of money. Then when I was let go during the pandemic and authored my first book, I started getting paid for something I loved to do which was positively impacting people which has led to more opportunities to get paid positively impacting people through my speaking and coaching business.
This taught me a very important lesson: chase the passion, not the money. Passion will bring income and fulfillment in the work for you, and money without passion is a recipe for bringing a lack of fulfillment in the work. Your consistent energy toward your intent will bring you desired results.
My brand is built on faith and vision, and I want people who hear me speak and work with me to gain clarity on their vision, confidence in their faith, and a plan of action to marry the two to make the vision a reality. I am not speaking from the top, I am right here with you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I may be biased because I grew up here, but Pasadena, CA is a place I could take anyone around and have a good time. I love food, art, and nature and Pasadena is one of the best cities to get all three. If someone were visiting, I would have to them over to try cuisines from different cultures depending on their preference because most of the restaurants are good here. There’s a lot to do in a week, so I’ll give you a good day. We would start out getting breakfast at Lucky Boys on Arroyo Parkway, then head out to one of the botanical gardens or museums around the city, eat again at Mi Piace Restaurant on Colorado boulevard, do some sightseeing of the nature and architecture around the city, and the end up at the Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena for some laughs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my mom and my late father for instilling confidence in me as a kid, showing me what consistency looks like in your work, and allowing me to find my own voice in the third world as they supported me growing up. I’m not entirely sure I would have the confidence to be a public speaker in front of a large crowd had they not put me in talent shows as a kid doing Michael Jackson moves, so I got my stage fright out early. My dad would always say “I have that word “can’t”‘ and to this day I make sure I honor him by always believing I can with any goal I put my focus on. So shoutout to my parents, I am forever grateful.
