We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Lockridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create a space where people can leave all their insecurities aside and focus on how they can achieve their health and body goals. Time will not be a factor and progress will be the most important aspect of their journey.

Because I knew how it felt to deal with certain aspects of my health and body image, Shaped Secretz was created to be a safe haven to help others feel good about themselves again. I thought utilizing non-invasive methods through body sculpting, various health products and other beauty services will encourage my clients to keep progressing towards their personal goals.

Within this industry, I’m able to build confidence in others and in turn it builds confidence in myself. We’re all self conscious about certain things and sometimes all we need is a little Shaped Secretz.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
From the moment I started working in college for a self-made multi-millionaire as an Executive Assistant, I knew that I wanted that life. After being exposed to entrepreneurship, I continued to work under several CEO’s and Executive Director’s throughout my professional career. I fell in love with these individual’s determination, work ethic, financial freedom and the ability to manage their time however they wanted to. I changed my major in college when I turned 20 from pre-med to business finance and it was a wrap from there. From age 20 to 33, I started several businesses until I found the right niche. No matter how many times I failed, I continued to learn from my mistakes and made better choices. As of today I can truly say I am my own boss and I’m excited for what is ahead of me in my entrepreneurial journey.

Shaped Secretz opened up it’s doors December 19, 2021 and we can say that we have two accomplishments that are a pretty big deal to us. Not only were we able to negotiate our lease with an amazing deal in the heart of Downtown, Los Angeles, but we were able to self-fund the construction work for the creation of 4 rooms in our studio space.

With extensive training, I’ve been able to provide noticeable results of our clients body sculpting treatments after completing only one session. I find it so rewarding to know that we helped someone feel better about themselves. When you are able to see the fruits of your labor through someone else, it motivates you to keep striving to do more for others. I’m proud to say you can view our clients results through our Google reviews, on our website and social media posts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite restaurants in Downtown, LA is Le Grand located off Grand and 7th Street. It’s an eclectic global bites & cocktails type of restaurant offered in a classy, festive atmosphere with live music and performers. Its truly a one of a kind type of restaurant where you can actually create amazing memories. Then head to Shoo Shoo Baby for some craft cocktails, great vibes and good music by some of LA’s local DJs. You can sit at the bar, get it in on the dance floor or lounge on their lounge chairs and couches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my parents. They are my biggest supporters and have created the person who I am today. My willingness to be understanding, to never stop learning, to always help others and to be the best at what I do is all because of my upbringing. I owe my success to them and above all, God, who has guided me through all my highs and lows. Without faith, my determination would have flatlined.
