Meet Marily Vaillancourt | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marily Vaillancourt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marily, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe consistency is one of the greatest keys to success. As an artist you want to connect with your viewers. People are always watching you, what you do, how you carry yourself, your work ethic and the more consistent you are the more they will begin to take note and more opportunities will start being presented to you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my vision. I am able to see clearly in mind what I want to manifest and I have the drive, dedication, and focus to bring it to fruition. Life is a rollercoaster. Along the ride you will have many ups and downs. From my experience I’ve noticed a great majority of people are sleep walking through life with no direction or they have dreams, passions, and aspirations that never are fulfilled because they lack the bravery and will power to stay the course. I have always been different from the crowd and forged my own path. I never give up once I have a set goal in my mind and I utilize every moment I am given to achieve these goals. I know that this is one of my greatest attributes and an essential component in my success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever any of my friends come to visit the first thing I like to do is begin the day by going on a hike on one of the many great trails around the hills to take in some of the scenic views. Once we’ve done our workout we will grab some sushi at my favorite restaurant, Nobu in Malibu, and relax on the beach for awhile. Afterwards I always love to take them to view some iconic art at the Getty, The Broad, LACMA, or some of the other world class galleries that this town is known for, stopping along the way to show them some of my own murals as well. Then we’ll usually end the day with a drink at a hip rooftop bar, a cool speakeasy, or a popup art show. There is always new and exciting things to explore and discover in LA and I love showing people the places that make me proud to call Los Angeles my home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people, friends, family, mentors, and collectors that have supported and guided me along my journey but throughout it all my biggest inspiration has always been my mom Lyne Lapiana. Growing up I saw my mom rise to the top in the movie industry through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. She showed me by example what it means to be a strong independent business woman, how to navigate the highs and lows that come along with being an entrepreneur in a creative field, keep level headed and stay on course. Watching her amazing work ethic, how she interacts with her colleagues, and how she always holds herself with poise and grace instilled in me the keys to succeed as an artist and in life.
