Meet Sean Endicott | Auctioneer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Endicott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Benefit Auctioneers was founded out of the spirit of goodwill! I was a working auctioneer attending a couple of benefit auctions a year and thought to myself how painful it was to watch the volunteer auctioneer, no offense to volunteers, and every time they were leaving thousands of dollars and sometimes tens of thousands on the table. So a friend of my wife’s asked if would volunteer my service to help their school fundraiser and I was more than happy to help, great school, great families, it was a no brainer. Well we killed it, raised 110% more than they’ve ever raised and the rest is history. That night kinda spread like wildfire through the community as you can imagine. I’m happy to tell you my company is 100% word of mouth. I’ve never done any advertising at all in the 25 years of doing galas/ benefit auctions. Pre- pandemic we were conducting over 110 events a year. We are slowly creeping back to those numbers. This year we will do 35+ events and double that for 2024. The success in the brand is all authenticity and the auctioneers and event coordinators that I have working for me. We are totally blessed to be a small part of our clients biggest fund raising night of the year.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a professional auctioneer and being able to do this as your full time job is not easy. I’ve been truly blessed by God to be able to do this full time. I’ve literally done every kind of auction you can think of. From the early days of selling cattle, goats, pigs and chickens to selling classic cars at Barrett- Jackson. Once I settled in to benefit auctioneering I knew I only wanted to do this. I was hyper focused on being the best I could and bringing new and innovative techniques to the charity auction sector. A lot of what you see in our industry today is techniques that my partner Damon and I created. We are the most copied in the industry, I take is at a compliment by the way. 🙂
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being that I was born and raised in the LA area and a huge Dodger fan I would take them to Chavez Ravine for a Dodger game. There’s nothing like a night game at Dodger stadium eating a hot dog, peanuts and drinking a beer there. The sights, sounds and smells takes me back. Some of the best views of LA are at the top of the stadium over looking LA.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I couldn’t be where I’m at in this business without my long time business partner Damon Casatico. He’s a huge part of the reason we were able to grow and enjoy the success we did. We started the previous company together and had 20 great years in the business together. When the pandemic hit he semi retired and moved to Georgia. He still conducts a handful of events a year but is nw mostly enjoying time with his wife traveling. When he retired I took that opportunity to rebrand the business and branch out on my own.
