Meet Valentine Wats (Waturuocha) | CTO/Lead Software Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Valentine Wats (Waturuocha) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valentine, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business uses technology to improve governance, infrastructure management, security monitoring, project accountability, and operational efficiency. Through platforms like PMPplanner and services involving drones and AI, we are helping organizations and governments make better decisions, reduce waste, monitor projects more effectively, and improve transparency in how public resources are managed.
Our work also contributes to economic and skills development. By promoting drone technology, AI systems, digital transformation, and project management solutions, your ecosystem encourages technology adoption, creates opportunities for technical training, and helps prepare individuals and institutions for a more digital and data-driven future.
Another major impact is on public safety and infrastructure oversight. Drone-based inspections, visual reporting, mapping, and monitoring can help detect problems earlier, improve emergency response, monitor environmental or security risks, and support better planning of roads, buildings, utilities, and public assets. This can ultimately improve the quality of life for communities.
Overall, your businesses are designed to modernize systems, improve accountability, increase efficiency, and accelerate technological advancement in sectors that directly affect people’s daily lives and long-term development.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My professional journey has been driven by a vision to use technology, innovation, and strategic thinking to solve real-world problems at scale. Over the years, I have built and led multiple brands and initiatives, including TEMSCONSU, TEMSCORP, Excelitte, TemsDrones, and PMPplanner, all focused on combining consulting, digital transformation, AI, drones, infrastructure management, and project intelligence into practical solutions for governments, enterprises, and institutions. What sets me apart is my ability to connect technology with operational and developmental needs in ways that create measurable impact rather than just theoretical ideas.
The journey was not easy. Building multiple brands, entering emerging technology sectors, and introducing innovative solutions in environments that are often slow to adopt change required persistence, resilience, and continuous learning. There were challenges around funding, market acceptance, credibility, partnerships, and navigating industries where many people initially did not understand the value of technologies such as drones, AI-driven reporting, or integrated project intelligence systems. I overcame these challenges by staying focused on execution, continuously improving my knowledge, building strategic relationships, and proving concepts through real projects and practical demonstrations rather than simply relying on promises or presentations.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that vision alone is not enough — consistency, adaptability, and the ability to keep moving forward during uncertainty are what truly build sustainable success. I have also learned the importance of thinking long-term, building systems rather than isolated businesses, and creating solutions that address meaningful societal problems. Every challenge became an opportunity to innovate, refine strategy, and strengthen the foundation of the ecosystem I am building.
What I want the world to know about me and my brands is that we are not just building companies — we are building solutions designed to modernize systems, improve accountability, empower institutions, and accelerate development through technology. My story is one of persistence, innovation, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. I want my brands to be recognized not only for business success but also for their contribution to digital transformation, infrastructure improvement, operational excellence, and the advancement of communities and nations through practical innovation.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d give them a mix of the best parts of Southeast Queensland — the beaches, rainforest, food scene, nightlife, luxury experiences, and laid-back lifestyle that make living near the Gold Coast special. Being about 30 minutes from the Gold Coast means you get access to both the energy of the coast and the calmer hidden gems around it.
The trip would start with a relaxed Gold Coast introduction — breakfast by the beach at Social Eating House + Bar or a café in Burleigh Heads, followed by beach hopping through Burleigh, Surfers Paradise, and Main Beach. At sunset, I’d take them to the rooftop at The Island Rooftop or a marina dinner at Rick Shores. One day would definitely include a luxury yacht cruise or jet ski experience around the Broadwater, because the Gold Coast is best experienced on the water.
Midweek would be about nature and adventure. I’d take them through the hinterland — Springbrook National Park, Tamborine Mountain, waterfalls, rainforest walks, wineries, and scenic lookouts. We’d stop at local distilleries, mountain cafés, and hidden spots tourists often miss. Another day would be for experiences like helicopter rides over the coastline, theme parks, or even drone photography adventures, which fit perfectly with my own passion for technology and visuals.
The final part of the week would focus on culture, networking, and the lifestyle side of the region. I’d introduce them to entrepreneurs, creatives, and ambitious people building businesses across Brisbane and the Gold Coast because one of the most exciting things about the area is the growing mix of innovation, tourism, tech, and lifestyle. Nights would include live music, rooftop lounges, beach walks, and great seafood. What makes this part of Australia special to me is that you can move from business meetings to beaches, rainforest, luxury dining, and adventure all within the same day — it’s a place that balances ambition with quality of life in a way few places do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to our global team (to include my son Trevor), my partner Oma for all her support/motivation, all my family and friends etc
