We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Han and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Creativity has been the common denominator of all of my endeavors growing up. I loved painting, dancing, acting, and doing the musical theater productions at my school every year. It only felt natural for me to pursue something creative professionally. I’m studying graphic design and creative marketing at school, and when I’m not at school I’m creating music. I’m very lucky to be able to be creative in all aspects of my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been surrounded and fascinated by the visual and performing arts. Songwriting was almost innate to me as a child– I would fill notebooks with original songs starting from around age 6. When I discovered songwriting again when I was a teenager, it became really important to me. I didn’t like talking about my emotions to other people, so I used songwriting to express myself privately. It was cathartic.

I think I have become a more vulnerable, open person over the years. In 2020, I felt willing to share my music with my family members, and eventually, the public. I wouldn’t have had it any other way– the amazing people I have met from opening myself up to the music world and the lessons I have learned so far have been inspirational. I’m very excited to see what the future holds!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would grab coffee and a breakfast burrito at Little Lunch in Venice or the Alfred’s on Abbot Kinney. I would take you to Abbot Kinney and browse in its little artsy stores. Lunch at Ali’i Fish Co for some fire poke! Maybe we’d get an afternoon matcha at Blue Butterfly down the street. Then, we would head inland to Silverlake Flea Market (if it’s a weekend) and shop for some great second-hand pieces. Then we would end up at Tsujita in Sawtelle for some hot Japanese noodles and soup for dinner. Yum.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Special thanks to my biggest supporters, my mom, my dad, and my sister! I would also like to thank my manager Garrett Wolfe & my producer and mentor Mike Matta for always being by my side!
