Meet Martí Noguer | Film, TV & Game Composer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Martí Noguer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Martí, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I think if you want to have a career as a composer you need to be prepared to prevail, persist and play the long game. It takes time to meet people in the industry, develop meaningful relationships and last but not least…develop your taste and sensibility, in other words, your voice.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a film, game, and TV composer that I value most is the collaboration between different creative people. Collaboration brings me so much richness when working with people from different cultures and backgrounds; it is a great way to have new ideas and push myself forward.
This path wasn’t easy at all. After my graduation in Barcelona, I worked for three years in the Spanish film industry. After this period of time, I thought moving to Los Angeles would be the right move in order to keep developing my career as a composer, and I’m glad I made this decision. Here I’ve met wonderful people and worked with great musicians, and I’m really excited about what’s to come. I have some wonderful projects lined up for the upcoming months that I’m looking forward to writing the music for!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely, I would go to the Griffith Observatory; I love hiking there! Having lunch in The Grove and finally going to Santa Monica to enjoy a great sunset—what a wonderful day it would be!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, my friends, and my mentors Alfred Tapscott and Xavier Capellas for their support throughout my career!
