We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Barnes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, what do you attribute your success to?
We are successful because our space is designed for our stylists to thrive and our guests to feel comfortable and seen. We are service providers and we’re constantly asking ourselves how we can be of better service to our guests and our community. When being of service is the goal it creates a different environment for everyone involved. It seems simple, but I truly think that’s one of our main reasons for success. Being of service and of course, gratitude. GRATITUDE ALWAYS.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Framed is a small boutique salon in upper Santa Monica right off the 10fwy on Pico Blvd. All of our stylists are education junkies with a focus on mindful beauty practices. We have come together as certified colorists, bridal experts, and top-shelf hair designers to create a one of a kind salon environment. Although all of our are stylists are independent, we work together as a team to create beautiful, wearable art on our guests and support each other, while nurturing the connections with the clientele we serve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ll try to keep this in our local Santa Monica area!

For breakfast we’d definitely check out Rae’s Diner. It’s a classic diner that’s been featured in so many movies and television shows. It’s a staple in our little area of Pico. Extremely affordable as well!
For brunch I’d go to Lunetta. It has a dinner menu as well but I’m a big fan of their Fried Chicken and Lemon Ricotta pancake on their lunch/ brunch menu. It’s a beautiful spot to grab a glass of wine as well.
For dinner I’d head over to Lares Mexican Restaurant. It’s a family owned restaurant that’s been serving the community for nearly 40 years! Definitely one of my favorites in the city. We go there ALL the time!
For a little self care we’d book massages at Health Land on Ocean Park. The prices are amazing and I’ve never had a bad massage from there. It’s my hidden gem massage parlor.
Tribe Pilates is the go to spot for an amazing Pilates workout. This would be a must if I had someone visiting!
I’d book us mani/pedis at Pinkies Nail Salon on Main St. they are known for their fun nail designs and excellent quality work.
Then of course, THE BEACH! Taking a bike ride down the bike path is one of my favorite things to do. It’s so beautiful and refreshing; plus so many stops along the way including, Santa Monica Pier and all the fun vendors and restaurants if you head toward Venice Beach or you could take it the other way to Will Rogers beach. The possibilities are endless!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Framed Salon team! There would be no Framed Salon if it weren’t for all the amazing people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Shoutout: Andi Scarbrough, Emma Carobini, Lindsey Smith, Krystal Torres, Lisett Munoz, Katia Gutierrez, Alex Morales, Alexandra Hawk, Ashlee Zakar, Nancy Contreras, Lindsay McCargar, Angel V Prado, Brittanie Hawley.

Also, HUGE SHOUTOUT to all of our amazing guests that have trusted us with their hair over the years! We are immensely grateful for the love, loyalty, and support.
