We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Glashausser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always felt that creativity wasn’t just a means of self-expression, but also a powerful tool for innovation and problem-solving. I continue to be inspired by the way that musicians, designers, artists, and other creative professionals used their skills to tackle complex challenges and bring new ideas to life. I hope to use my own creativity to make a difference in the world.

When I was a kid I wanted to be Jimi Hendrix and would play guitar with my teeth (much to the horror of my parents and dentist). Soon enough my passion became my career, as I went to college at the Manhattan School of music to study classical guitar and composition. Ultimately, the joy I experience from living out my passions drives me to constantly strive for more.

Throughout my career in music, and currently in real estate, I’ve embraced every new opportunity with the desire to create something unique and special. Today, I feel incredibly fortunate to be working in a field that allows me to explore my passions, exercise my skills, and make a positive impact through my work. Every day I’m challenged to think creatively, collaborate and connect with others, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s an exciting and rewarding journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to pursue my dreams in not only one, but two fields that I love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Currently, I’m primarily focused on real estate, however, I also own a recording studio in Hollywood, and am a songwriter, producer and composer. While having worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, this experience allows me to offer my clients a unique perspective. What sets me apart from other professionals in my field is my creativity, experience working with high-profile clients, and my desire to learn about all the different neighborhoods of Los Angeles and what makes each area so special. We’re very lucky to live in a city with such a beautiful, bold history that’s full of culture, and well, endless sunshine.

I love listening to peoples’ stories, learning about their experiences in life, and what they’re passionate about (ideally over a nice glass of Barolo, but this is by no means necessary). When it comes to my clients, I want to hear everything they have to say – their hopes and dreams, their life story, what they’re worried about, what they’re excited about, even what they had for lunch – whatever’s important to them, I want to hear it. At the end of the day, my business isn’t about me – it’s about my clients and guiding them to a position where they can succeed and live out their dreams.

In my business I strive to provide my clients with exceptional service, personalized attention, and innovative solutions. And while it’s cool to show clients the newest $40 million Bel Air mansion (like really, really cool), my favorite part of the job is helping all people, from all walks of life, to find their perfect home. It doesn’t matter what their financial standing is – if they’re good people, I want to help them. I’ve overcome challenges along the way, but I’ve learned that hard work, persistence, human connection, and the willingness to continuously learn and grow are the key to success. Ultimately, my brand is about guiding my clients through the process – from start to finish – with integrity, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help them achieve their goals. While I’ve experienced a lot, I know there’s still plenty more to learn, and I’m excited to be a part of each client’s journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, so I could probably talk about this for hours, as I have a serious passion for food and wine. I love finding new restaurants, wine bars, and cool things to do around the city. I want to know everything, from what dive you go to after work for super spicy wings and that special drink your favorite bartender makes that’ll give you a hangover for a week, to where to take your fiancé for a 12-course tasting menu that includes the caviar oyster with smoked habanero sea salt that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. I think food has a really unique and important way of bringing people together, and telling the story of the neighborhood and what makes that part of the city so special.

If I were to take a friend who was visiting around town, we would definitely hit Son of a Gun, where they’ve got the best oysters outside of Paris, plus the linguini and clams with uni butter is literally the single greatest dish since the invention of dishes. And honestly that alone would be worth the trip, but because we live in LA there’s way more!

Another item on the itinerary would definitely be Angelini Osteria. It is one of my favorite restaurants on the planet, and everything there is so good. They have a killer wine list and an epic veal milanese.

Mignon is one of my favorite bars in the city. My wife and I go there to drink wine and snack on great cheese, charcuterie and small plates.

I could sit at either Bicyclette or Petit Trios all day eating escargot and mussels.

The steak au poivre at Camphor is incredible and the garganelli with ragu bolognese at Osteria Mozza is what dreams are made of.

I would also probably take them on a trip up the coast to Santa Barbara, Los Alamos, or Paso Robles to do some wine tasting, where it feels like you’re sitting at a vineyard in Tuscany. This would definitely be followed by dinner, preferably at Bell’s or Bar Le Côte, which are run by the same chef/restaurant group. Bell’s has a Michelin Star and a tasting menu to die for. Not to mention, they both serve the crispiest, most delicious fries ever.

So, as you can see, my love for food and wine is real. Not only do I love the food in the city of LA, but also across the state. Finding great places to eat helps lead me to new neighborhoods and cultures, which is my favorite thing to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my wife, Paula, for always encouraging me to grow and reach my goals, and for supporting my passions and dreams. I’d also like to thank my parents for always loving me and encouraging me to be whoever I wanted to be.
