We had the good fortune of connecting with Keiko Wedding and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keiko, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I always encourage them to have a high self-esteem and to be guided by the principle of doing what you like and to follow what you are good at. I try to show those values to them all the time and to set a good example for them to follow. Also it is vital to give them unconditional love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started out admiring this job, but in the beginning, I was working in a way that prioritized my own satisfaction, but after a long period of time, I started to realize how good it feels to make the same thing with other people. I learned how to do it. When a team with different opinions and occupations completed the joint work of making the same work, I felt more joy and a sense of accomplishment from a different point of view. I also learned that if I always work hard and have fun, someone will appreciate my contributions and enthusiasm and someday new doors will always open.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like hiking in the mountains where I can feel part of nature. Or if I wanted to show them the wonders of the open skyline I would recommend Malibu or Zuma Beach. I’d also take them to the great art galleries in downtown LA, or if they wanted art and interesting plants I would take them to the Huntington Library and Gardens in Pasadena.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am where I am because of my experiences with everyone I have met. I spend my days appreciating everything, including my family, friends, and co-workers. Encouraged by spiritual books, I discover surprising happiness through the actions and words of children. I’ve learned that if I start being happy within myself, the world will reflect and change.
