Meet Margie Traxler | Founder/CEO of Grain Free Mama’s and Host of A Place At The Table Global Community

We had the good fortune of connecting with Margie Traxler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Margie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is inherent in every aspect of our lives. We are constantly surrounded by various elements of risk daily. Do I dare to be great and risk the possibility of falling short? Most of the decisions I make during the day involve an unspoken assessment of risk for action taken or not taken.
For me, I have a baseline belief that in most cases, the risk is worth it. As an entrepreneur/business owner, I signed on to the risk the day I made the decision to create Grain Free Mama’s. There was a need for our products and educational resources to enhance other’s lives. I could have kept the products and resources to myself, but at what cost to others? What is the fun and adventure in that?
Big risk taking is not natural to all people, but I believe all people can grow their risk tolerance. Just like inaction in situations, ‘playing it safe,’ breeds inaction. I am not of that ilk ‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained’ is more my mantra. Dare to do great things. Be the change you want to see.
I think that our view of failure is very important in our tolerance of risk. I believe fail is an acronym for First Attempt In Learning, not a label of defeat. This belief has helped me to make the tough choice to jump when I cannot see clearly the end point. I believe that every day that I wake up to is a gift that I have exactly 24 hours to spend. I cannot get any gift of a day back, so I endeavor to make the most of each day. This is what I founded Grain Free Mama’s upon…decades of living each day with the goal of being just a little better, more giving, more inspirational, more encouraging to both myself and to others.

What should our readers know about your business?
Grain Free Mama’s is a Food Tech Consumer Product Goods company dedicated to making the most healthy baking mixes on the planet. We have a two-fold approach; (1) products and (2) resources. In order to make lasting changes to diet for health long-term there is a need for both healthy products readily available for consumer purchase, and the educational resources to help consumers learn how to make lasting eating choice changes for health and well-being. Want to learn more about our back story! Here is our back story told by myself and my daughter; https://youtu.be/qzZoYX0ur7I
(1) All of our baking mixes are Edible Grass Ingredient Free (no flours of non-gluten or gluten grains, no corn, no rice and no cane sugar), dairy free, soy free, botanical nut free (we use coconut ingredients, which is a botanical fruit) and no artificial flavors/colors/preservatives. We use organic ingredients. Our current baking mix offerings are 4 flavors of Crepe Mixes and Pizza Crust Mix, with more products ready to launch.
(2) We have just launched our online community, A Place At The Table Global Community (https://a-place-at-the-table.
What sets us apart from others is our unwavering commitment to provide real tangible help for people who have to (specialized diet) or want to (health-conscious) consumers make healthy eating changes and also to be aware of the truth behind the hype of health foods.
There are so many lessons I have learned on this journey, but one constant … my passion to share what I have learned as a mom fighting for the health of her children to make others’ journeys that much easier. As humans, I believe that we have a responsibility to sustain life, and this planet, by sharing lessons learned, information, and the products to enhance and support living each day in the best way possible. As I have encountered road blocks and supply chain issues, I was able to adjust the company path to accommodate and move around these obstacles.
The most important thing I want the world to know about Grain Free Mama’s and A Place At The Table is that for all those who are silently suffering from digestive problems, diseases and allergies … we see you, we hear you, and we want to support you in living your best life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Henderson/Las Vegas area is so much fun to visit:
Activities:
Guided bicycle tour of Red Rock Canyon by Red E Bike Tours (https://www.redebike.com)
Going for a hike up on Mt Charleston, about a 1 hr drive from Vegas
Any of the Cirque De Soleil shows on the strip
Renting a houseboat on Lake Mead
Eating/Drinking: (A couple of my favorites)
Catch (in the Aria)
Firefly (2 locations in the valley)
The Buffet at the Wynn (Sunday brunch is spectacular)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends have been instrumental in supporting me in all of my life’s adventures thus far. My daughter, who for over a decade ate the foods I was experimenting with (now Grain Free Mama’s products). Her picky-ness, honest feedback and then unwavering support have been invaluable. As have been others, most notably Felicity, Jon, Stephanie and Angie, to name a few.
I love reading and there have been so many books, but two recent books have been very inspirational, “The Secret’ (Rhonda Byrne) and “Think and Grow Rich” (Napoleon Hill).
Lastly, I listen to motivational talks, etc. daily and really have enjoyed Oprah, Tony Robbins, Mary Morrissey and Wayne Dyer.
