We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamera Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamera, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’m a domestic violence survivor. And I wanted to start a non profit organization to help women and children of abuse . To show them if I can make it . They can two by raising awareness through fundraising through events and community outreach with a walk next year etc . My goals are high and my mission isn’t complete until I help women of abuse and their mental health and disparities. Housing homelessness , education , helping them to get in there feet and create for them a better life

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well in business it’s never easy there is always setbacks delays etc . But you have to keep going live your life with passion purpose a positive attitude and kindness . I over came because I know I needed to help and there was a great need . I have always been a giver . A helper and even in the discouraging times when my life wasn’t so great I still gave . I like being behind someone else’s happiness . Lesson learned you have to do it for you if you want it . Don’t stop ! I want the world to know you can make it as being a motivational speaker as well . Have a positive attitude and let no one steal your peace and joy

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
1st Just love Court Cafe for breakfast take a yoga class @ Runyon Canyon then go for lunch to Nic’s on Beverly . Yum I’m vegan so they have great vegan options . For dinner EP\LP rooftop for some awesome drinks then 626 night market Santa Monica always a good time .
