We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was to create a business that was proactive from a policy perspective but also has the knowledge and skills to be reactive to investigative concerns.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I created MRS Consulting as a proactive response to compliance concerns that I noticed were experienced by several organizations that I have worked for in the past. I am also skilled at reactive responses to reports that there have been incidences of a lack of compliance with the respective established policy, rules and laws.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d likely take them to the Inner Harbor and ensure Crab Cakes would be on the menu. There are several rooftops to visit with a variety of craft cocktails. There are a host of comedy clubs as well as a theater. The water taxis is fun and well as the local African American Museum.
