Meet Carolina De Athey | Actress, Artist – Singer Songwriter, Model and Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina De Athey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carolina, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from São Paulo, Brazil and I love it. But I lived in different parts of Brazil. The way my parents raised me definitely influences who I’m today, I’d say I have a lot to thank them for raising me surrounded by love! They have always taught me to have principles, values and integrity. We always had lunch and dinner together and talked to each other everyday. I still talk to my family daily so I’d say we are pretty tight.
I also think the way I grew up in Brazil totally impacts who I’m today in different aspects that are different from my family.
The way I act, think and how free spirited I am is definitely something I learned in Brazil. Not necessarily with my family. I don’t think my family has the same outlook in life when it comes to chilling, relaxing and going with the flow. So, I’m super grateful I learned that with others. Another thing I learned growing up in Brazil it’s the necessity to adapt to different circumstances when needed and to focus on what I can control.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an artist. I think that is the word that can better describe me because I’m an actress, singer-songwriter, model and influencer and hopefully one day I’ll have a fashion brand because I love fashion and I’d love to share my fashion vision and style with the world. So, in a nutshell I can’t be put into a box because I definitely won’t fit in. Lol!
I think I’m proud that I’ve written music that has been published and I have a song coming out soon. I guess, it’s because it lasts forever right?
And it’s mine! I created it! Some way, somehow one day, I thought of a sound and words that should go with that sound and one day, it materialized. I think that creational process is fascinating to me and I still don’t understand it but I’m proud of it.
I’m very excited about acting and storytelling. I love becoming and developing a character. Rather is for Film, Tv, Music Video or a Modeling campaign. Acting is essentially involved in all of these mediums and you need to be willing to act and tell a story. But it’s much better when you love it and I do.
I learned that in this business nothing comes easy unless you’re willing to sell yourself, otherwise you have to work real hard.
I also learned that you will meet and deal with a lot of frauds in this business but you have to keep on going and moving forward. You have to believe in yourself even if nobody does and you have to listen to your own intuition and heart desire.
I think I want the world to know that my heart, mind and spirit are open and in Love with the arts and the expression of it.
I want the world to know that I want to use all my talents and abilities to share experiences that will inspire people all over the world to share love and kindness. I think film and music can connect with the human soul in a way that is extraordinary and I want to be a part of that! That is where my heart is!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Haha, that’s difficult because it always depends on what’s going on in LA. But I’d take my friend to Malibu to see the beach, the Malibu Pier and enjoy the area. I really like the Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Cafe for a day meal. It’s super chill and the food is super fresh. A shopping day around the Melrose Ave area and Beverly Hills where you can find a lot of cool boutiques. We can do dinner at The Rooftop by JG at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills just because it’s so pretty and very good for pictures.
Now if there’s something cool going on like an awesome event or concert I’d suggest Wally’s in Beverly Hills because they are awesome there and it’s always open late.
I’d take my friend to some thrift stores too to get some deals and find some vintage items. Maybe go to the Griffith Observatory because I haven’t been and I need to. Dinner and music at Verse LA is always on the “menu”. I love the place and it’s so artistic.
One more day for a Studio Tour or Universal day which a lot of visitors want to go to and since we’d be in the valley I’d go to Katsuya or Taisho for Sushi or Vino and Tapas Room for Spanish Tapas ( one of my favorite places to eat). The food there is so Yumm!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Haha, such a hard question. As you can imagine, there are so many different people that pitched in and taught me something or inspired me and pushed me forward. And so many films, books and songs that motivated and inspired me one way or another. But I think I have to dedicate the Shoutout to my sister because she is the one who had to put up with me the most. Lol! By Far!!
She is really the only one that supports me no matter what even when she doesn’t agree with my vision or like the project I got cast in and so forward.
Or even when she is busy. I drive her crazy, lol ( in a good way) and it has always been like this since we were kids. She has always supported me, no questions asked.
So the Shoutout goes to my sis, Hevile!
