Meet Jasmine Sykes | Global Executive Publicist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Sykes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business came about with my passion for writing and marketing. JMarie Media was founded in 2012, starting my career off as an editor for my magazine, JMarie Magazine. The magazine was created to become a platform for entrepreneurs in the Midwest region to showcase to the world what they had to offer. The goal was that the magazine would eventually expand nationally. That included doing live interviews via social media and Youtube. Well, that business required a lot of time and eventually, I wanted more. In my hometown, Milwaukee, WI, I felt as if I had reached my capacity. Because the city was so small, there was no room for growth. I graduated from college with a degree in business and decided I had an interest in Public Relations. That is how the birth of JMarie Media came about.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JMarie Media is a public relations firm that thrives in personable excellence. The experience, the rapport, the customer service, the relationship and development. Our company solves the problem of educating entrepreneurs into building successful brands. The greatest problem we solve is life changing experiences. Our services help build identity. Knowing what you have to service the world with the greatest level of integrity and respect. Owning “YOUR SEASON”. Spreading love, unity and relationships with your targeted audiences. We are uniquely qualified for this grant because we service others with LOVE & LAUGHTER. The two greatest forms of medicine of all time. We create memories that are everlasting for businesses. How can we remember your legacy forever, that is the kind of public relationships we want to continue to build throughout the world. Some lessons I’ve learned was that relationships are more valuable than money in business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you are looking for an amazing time in LA, some unique spots to check out are Fixins Soul Kitchen on Olympic BLVD. OMG their food is comfortable and makes you feel like back in the days on a Sunday when the family gathers at big momma house. Another place to visit is my office of course 360 E. 2nd Street, if you are looking to start or expand your business, it is our pleasure to help. A great place for self care and therapy would be Nicole Lunan on Pacific Coast. Total relaxation and relieving.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge part of my success goes to the CEO of Duct Tape Entertainment, Big Bank. I was at one of his video shoots with Kandi and I can remember telling him I wanted to be in the industry and he told me to keep working hard and never give up on my dreams. Fast forward to today, I am continuing to expand my own brand, a well-respected publicist representing some of today’s largest corporations and most talented individuals in the industry. JMarie Media currently is the Number 12 Best Black-Owned Business in the West End of Atlanta, GA and Top 10 Best Public Relations Firms via Yelp in Castleberry Area of Atlanta, GA. another part goes to my cousin Tony Neal CEO of Core Djs whom helped raise and mold me into the phenomenal woman I am today.
