We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Mannschreck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grant, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
If there is a risk involved, I am the one to tackle it head on. I never shy away from taking risks and diving headfirst into the unknown, because I believe being fearless of what’s ahead is the moment when people grow and expand in the most unexpected ways. Expansion in all ways has been a huge proponent and mantra in my life, because if I’m not evolving as a human, complacency might creep into my life. There’s too much to work towards for me to get complacent now, or ever for that matter. The work both internally and externally will never stop in my life, no matter what risk or challenge lies ahead. The beauty of life lives just beyond that seemingly unknown obstacle, and I will always wait in anticipation for what’s next to overcome. Take it one obstacle at a time, and the outcome will always be more beautiful than anyone could imagine.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up in Nebraska, I didn’t have all the tools needed to develop a path in the performing industry, but it gave me the spark that I needed to carry with me. That spark quickly turned into a flame and I moved to New York City at 18 years old with no job lined up, no place to call home, just a boy and a dream. Looking back on the last four years since then feels like an absolute whirlwind of emotion and it hasn’t always been easy. Right as I was laying my foundation in the New York Theatre community, the Covid Pandemic hit hard and fast. Jobs vanished in the blink of an eye, so I had to decide to either play the waiting game, or to pivot. I decided to pivot and move to Los Angeles without a clue of what’s to come, other than banking on the potential of work opportunities. it felt like I was starting from scratch all over again. But, with an enduring spirit and endless tenacity, I carried on and began paving my way from the ground up… again. This industry waits for nobody, with very high highs and low lows, and navigating that can be tricky. However, knowing I’m not alone in this and that thousands of other people can relate to both the struggles and successes, makes me feel like I have this unspoken bond between a large mass of people. Of course I have picked up a lot of tips and tricks along the way that keep me going, the biggest being every closed door, every rejection only means somebody else needed that ‘yes’ at that very moment. Your ‘yes’ will not pass you. It is coming and remember, when it rains, it pours. For both the good times and the bad.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love when I get to show people around my city. It’s an excuse for me to be a tourist myself, to get re-inspired and connected with the beautiful cities I like to call home. When they visit LA, I love to immediately take them to Malibu, because just driving up the PCH, with the windows down is unforgettable. We stop for a nice lunch at Geoffrey’s or Paradise Cove, both are right on the water which makes for a breathtaking view. Then I would take them shopping in Beverly Hills, maybe make a pit stop at The Grove before having dinner in West Hollywood. Little known fact, I love reality TV so a dinner at Sur is a must! Then to cap the night off, we drive to Griffith Park and take in the scenery at sunset, all starry eyed and reminiscing on the beauty of the day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I know it’s cliché, but I have to give credit when due and thank my family, specifically my Mom, for giving me the freedom to dream bigger than this world. They taught me to find the power within myself, to discover that spark and never let it die. We are all here for a bigger purpose, and I am eternally grateful that I have found my purpose at an early stage in life. To have them cheering me on from afar means the world. Not everyone is granted that same fortune, so I am more than grateful to have them in my corner.

Without my wonderful team at Kreativ Media Partners, I would be a fish out of water in this industry. They created a path for me before I even moved to Los Angeles, and their continued support in keeping this ship afloat does not go unrecognized.

To my community, I thank you endlessly for believing in me when I shoot for the stars. Thank you for being there for me if I fall, and giving me the strength to pick myself back up and catch a ride on the many shooting stars in life. You make my life wildly blessed.
