Meet Renata Diniz | Atriz & Modelo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Renata Diniz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renata, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I think one of the most important things that help me succeed in the things I set out to do and specifically speaking in my career as an actress is to have focus determination persistence and staying positive.

Keeping focus in general on all the other activities you develop in life helps you to follow through with your goal.

Working out, yoga, running and meditation are some of my habits that helps me a lot to keep focus and keeping my energy always renewed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Brazilian actress living in Los Angeles, an immigrant who had a very colorful upbringing in a city on the north coast of São Paulo called Ilhabela which I think led me to having a strong understanding of many different cultures. I believe that growing up in a small town made me dream big and developed as a very curious person.
I knew it where I wanted to go and what I wanted to achieve since always.
I feel very proud of having the courage and decided taking another step and quiting my other career. (I graduated in dentistry and worked in the area for a few years)
After going through some acting schools in Brazil, graduating as an actress and going to Portugal for a artistic residency I knew it was the time to make the move. I took with me all the baggage of artistic wisdom and knowledge acquired over the years and studies done in Brazil. I had to face my fears and be very strong when I left my country and came to live in Los Angeles.
I knew it how important it was learning English better and getting the feeling of being comfortable acting in a another language.
I’ve been studing a lot dedicating myself to my acting classes and learning news things every day. Opportunies will come with time and a lot of work.
There were some difficulties, such as the need to survive in an expensive city but the important was be remained very dedicated and focused on my goals and with work and patience I would achieve them little by little. I was lucky to meet people along the way who helped me and gave me support and strength to never give up. I’ve learned a lot of lessons in all the time I’ve been here and I’m fighting and trying to reach all my goals and one of them is that there are no limits for a person who dreams and works for it, it’s a combination of fighting and always believing, there will be bad days but you must stay strong and persistent and have faith above all else. I believe I’m on the right path and I still want to be part of big projects.
I want the world to see the woman who left a small island in Brazil and has conquered her dreams with a lot of courage and determination

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many amazing things to do in LA, I think I would definitely take my friends around and visit the National Parks like Yosemite and Sequoia and for sure Joshua Tree. Around the city there are many places I love to go like Venice Beach, Topanga hikes, Malibu beach, Malibu pier, Griffith Observatory, Lacma Museum, the restaurants near the beach, jazz bars and some perfect places to have a great brunch time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to all those who somehow participated in my artistic training and taught me so much about the art of acting.

Also my family that support me in all my decisions and my amazing friends who were always by my side along the way, all of the new friends I met since I got in LA that have been sharing so many great moments with me and so many other that were in my life and taught me so much. Appreciate you all!
