We had the good fortune of connecting with Trisha Kwan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My parents are entrepreneurs and have always encouraged me to work for myself. They told me to do something I love and make it into a career. I’ve always loved artistry and helping people. In 2007, I decided to leave corporate beauty world to get a cosmetology license so I can work in the beauty industry and this led me to be open to the idea of opening up my own studio and working for myself. Just last year, I embarked on another addition to my career and this is being a health coach. I now help people not only feel amazing on the outside, but I get them feeling great on the inside as well!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What really makes me stand out compared to other businesses is the sheer passion, love, and genuine dedication that I pour into my work. I’m not just some run-of-the-mill business – I’m a place where you can truly be yourself and feel completely at home. My whole philosophy is about bringing out the unique beauty that’s inside every person, both their inner spirit and their outer appearance. I don’t see imperfections as anything negative; they’re part of what makes each of us special and one-of-a-kind. With my careful and thoughtful enhancements, my goal is to really bring out the natural beauty that everyone has, helping each person feel confident and embrace their own perfect, authentic self.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly don’t go out much! If I do go out, I love to eat at nice restaurants with good food. For example, I love True Food Kitchen in Pasadena (they have other locations too), but I love that you can enjoy “farm to table” healthy meals while enjoying a walk afterwards in Downtown Pasadena.
Just hanging out having great conversations and delicious food is EVERYTHING! I love getting to know people because I find people to be so fascinating. After all, there are no two people exactly alike. We all have our own journeys, and I find it interesting to learn how everyone sees their own stories unfold..
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I’d like to give a shoutout to my parents and my husband who have always supported me in my growth and journey (even through my crazy, risky decisions). They have always supported me even through my struggles.
Next, I’d like to give a shoutout to Judy Hiep (salon owner of Let’s Go Hair). Watching her grow in her salon business journey has been an inspiration and she has always supported me through my journey in the beauty industry. I have never worked with a person who is so driven to keep fighting through all the things she’s been through and still continues to keep growing.
Recently, I’ve been going through a lot of personal growth and development in my life and I would like to give a shoutout to Natalie and Damien Little and Team LIT, Alex Corona and The Coach Squad and Jamil Frazier. I feel blessed to be part of a growing community who are driven to change the world for the better starting with creating healthy habits.
