We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocio Araujo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocio, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been leaning into fear and trusting my intuition (as crazy as it may seem at the time!!)

In the past couple of years, I’ve:

-invested in a private life coach
-booked a solo trip to Bali
-quit my full time job in Spain
-moved to Costa Rica alone without knowing anybody
-invested in 2 mentorship programs with most my savings
-leaned into uncertainty time & time again.

It was definitely difficult to decide to leave my entire life behind in Spain just at the start of this year. It was my first time ever venturing out in the unknown FULLY and getting comfortable with uncertainty. Little did I know it would open up the pathway to receive all the success I do with my brand now. The secret? Learning how to truly quiet down, be comfortable in uncertainty and feeling worthy of receiving.

Ever since, my brand has slowly been growing and keeps attracting clients worldwide daily. Being the embodiment of what I teach and the work I do with my clients has been the greatest catalyst for my growing success.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a coaching and holistic healing business called The Brave Self.

Here I offer 1:1 deep subconscious healing sessions as well as a 3 month program called The Brave Self Method.

The Brave Self Method really is my life’s work. It is the step-by-step process I’ve gone through to build unconditional self-love, heal & remove blocks, and ultimately step into my fullest purpose & potential.

What differentiates me from others really is the level of embodiment that I own with my programs as well as my work with the subconscious mind. Every single thing I teach my clients are tools that I’ve personally gone through myself and that I have truly integrated through my body.

Many clients come to me after a single session saying they are shocked at how much everything finally clicked for them, and they’ve felt more peace then ever even after YEARS of talk therapy! This work is truly powerful and it’s because in my sessions and method, we go deep into your subconscious mind to heal past traumas and process old memories. I work a lot with the nervous system, breathwork and neural pathways as well.

What many people don’t know is that there is a REASON for their anxiety. There is a REASON for their emotional eating. It all stems back from a dysregulated nervous system, and all this information is stored in the body. You are not your anxiety. You are not your depression. These really are all just trauma responses that you’re body learnt in order to cope. Once you start digging deep, it’s incredible how rapidly these can all start to disappear.

A fun fact is that your body actually sends 80% of the information up to the mind, not the other way around…so really when you start working with the subconscious, which governs 95% of your thoughts, your reality starts to change as do your emotions, behaviors and patterns!

To summarize everything, what I’ve learned on my personal development and business journey is to learn to release expectations, drop into the body & listen to my intuition. I learned to do so, but do so gently as well and with loving kindness towards myself.

When you start to heal, it can take a lot, so really resting and taking the time to recover.

It takes courage to change. It takes courage to align your life with what really matters. The first years of my business were definitely hard, & as an entrepreneur, you constantly have to be thinking on your feet. I think that the most important thing for me when overcoming challenges is remembering my why – to be able to serve others & walk them back home to the level of inner peace and freedom we all have available if we are committed to doing the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love LA! It’s actually where I went to college.

I would definitely recommend:
-Breakfast at Paradise Bowls in Manhattan & walk along the ocean
-Anima Mundi Apothecary for a coffee, as well as walk around Venice & enter many boutiques and shops around there.
-Crossroads Kitchen for dinner is a must! Their pasta is out of this world. It is 100% plant based but you really would not be able to tell.
-Cafe Gratitude for Lunch or to grab a raw vegan dessert.
-Palos Verdes is such a beautiful walk
-Visit The Getty Museum
-Hollywood Trails Hike
-SunLife Organics Wolverine Smoothie is also a must!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Investing in mentorship has been crucial for me. It truly takes courage to learn how to receive and ask for help. It does not make you less weak, but rather the opposite.

My mentors have been crucial in my quantum leaps towards success. I would like to give a personal shoutout to my first ever life coach, Olga, who truly opened my eyes up to the value of receiving someone else’s guidance.
