We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Bergeron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My entire career and life here in LA was born from risk. Risk taking has always been something I’m extremely comfortable with. I’m comfortable with being uncomfortable and I trust myself with decision-making regarding my career. It really is true when people say “no risk- no reward.” In order to obtain something out of reach, you have to stretch further than is comfortable-or sometimes even imaginable. This is wear the magic lives. This is where you meet your next level of self. I’m always taking risks and investing in myself- if you are willing to match the level of the risk with the same level of intensity in the work you do, chances are the risk will always result in reward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my fight. Talent and skill can always develop, but the ability to be able to dig deep and continue to fight against all odds- in my opinion- is special. There has been a lot of adversity in my life I have had to overcome to even have the chance to get to where I am today. I am relentless, resourceful, and extremely passionate. My journey up until this point was not an easy one, but I knew that going into it. When I am faced with a challenge, no matter how extreme, I only let the initial cut hurt for a moment before I dive head into the way out. I am extremely realistic and solution-based in my thinking. My ability to be grounded in all extremes is probably my favorite quality of myself. It’s overwhelming (in a great way) to think of all of the lessons I have learned up until this point in my (young) life. And for all of them, I am nothing but grateful. I get excited to see the version of myself that comes out of whatever is thrown at me. Each time I find myself even stronger and more resilient than ever before. As someone who has experienced extreme loss, roadblocks, and moments where I can’t always see out the other side- the faith I have in myself to get me to that other side is unwavering. And that is something no one can ever take from me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to take a moment to shoutout Kolanie Marks and TheRoomLA. This man is the definition of self-made success and leadership. As someone who develops dancers, he has done so much more for me than just teach me how to be a better dancer. He has helped to instill qualities and work ethic that I could have only ever dreamed of when I embarked on my dance journey. Every time I have the chance to train with him, I leave feeling as though I have learned how to utilize tools to take me further and further- not just dance moves. The mentality he has towards life, growth, and success is something I truly believe anyone would benefit by if adopted. As long as you are willing to put in the work 😉 Being around him truly unlocks the door to exponential growth, and I am thankful every day.
