We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Einbund and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I think people have a lot of misconceptions about therapy and therapists in general. Until you go through the process yourself, it’s hard to understand just what it entails. Therapy is not a a one size fits all model, it is a personal journey of discovery, growth, and healing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Becoming a therapist is one of the greatest honors of my life. Although it can be extremely challenging, I absolutely love the work. Working both in person and virtually allows me to better serve my clients. I have two different specialities I focus on: trauma and navigating your 20’s. When working with trauma, I get to use my skills to help facilitate deep healing work which can be really rewarding. Further, working with young adult clients is very special to me as I so genuinely relate to the difficulties this age group is facing. Something I’m very excited about right now is my recent training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). This approach to therapy has changed how I live my life and has allowed me to become an even better therapist.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had to plan a 24 hour itinerary to Los Angeles for a friend I would start with a hike (of course!). I like Los Leones trail because there’s beauitful greenery and scenic ocean views. After that a quick visit to Santa Monica Brew Works for a beer flight and pizza! Then I would suggest a visit to Wi Spa. For an affordable $30 entrance fee, you can enjoy all sorts of steam rooms, sauanas, cold pools, and more. It’s my favorite way to relax. No where better to go after the spa than vegan sushi, my favorite local spot being Shojin. Personally, I’m an in bed by 10 kind of girl, so my evening would end there. But there are of course many other fun destinations to explore in the area!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Benk Collective has been an essential part of my therapy journey. Founded by licensed therapist Andrew Benkdendorf, this group of clinicans is my work family. We support each other profesionally and personally, which is essential when working in a field like mental health.
