We had the good fortune of connecting with Daleet Spector and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daleet, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I’ve been an interior designer for almost 20 years and I love the creative aspect of the work and seeing how transforming my client’s physical space can uplift their lives. The job does come with it’s share of challenges and, at times, can demand a lot of my attention.

Yoga has always been a passion and a great release, both mentally and physically. A few years ago I followed my passion into teacher training – thinking I would just be learning more about yoga and deepening my practice. Through the process I realized how much I love to teach and that it allows me to give others something that has given so much to me.

Yoga has furthered my awareness that work life balance is an ongoing process, something we are always reevaluating and continually refining. I’ve realized there are four foundational areas that need to be aligned for balance and peak performance in my life – food, exercise, sleep and relationships. These four areas are obviously interconnected and when one is off it impacts the others as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is changing and evolving. I’m currently still working with clients as an interior designer as well as teaching yoga classes at Hot 8 Yoga in Los Angeles.

I’ve been most excited about expressing my creativity on my instagram channel and building a community there. It’s become a space for sharing inspiration and teaching others to find the balance and beauty in life. From sharing my weekly yoga playlists, to teaching others how to style a great outfit and creating reminders for people to get outside, I want my channel to be a place that makes people feel good.

I’ve also really enjoyed working with some amazing brands that I love and respect. Recently, I’ve been collaborating with Malia Mills, a revered swimwear and clothing brand based out of NY. I share a lot of styling tips as well as some of my favorite pieces on my channel. I’m also working on yoga residencies with some of the top resorts.

What sets me apart is my perspective on aging and evolving as a woman. I embrace my stage of life, and emphasize feeling good, health and well being over appearance. My need for external approval has diminished, and I’ve realized we must love ourselves in the present moment, without the constant need to change or fix anything. At 51, I feel vibrant, creative and stronger than ever. I’m deeply committed to sharing new perspectives that may help others break free from the fear of aging and tap into a much more powerful relationship with themselves.
