Meet Frankie Endo Ondo | Creator of Draw The Line: The Game of Dealbreakers & Red Flags & Podcast Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Frankie Endo Ondo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Frankie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The motivation behind starting my own business stemmed from a desire to transform the dating world into a more honest and non-judgmental space. Through my card game, podcast, and now my new candle collection, I aimed to make the dating scene less intimidating and more inviting. My goal has always been to create a platform for open and honest conversations without fear of judgment. In today’s dating culture, there seems to be a pressure to maintain a certain image or persona, and I wanted to challenge that notion by encouraging authenticity and vulnerability.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business revolves around creating products and content that aim to revolutionize the dating scene by promoting honesty, vulnerability, and open communication. What sets me apart is my unique approach to tackling these issues through a variety of mediums, including my card game, podcast, and candle collection.
I am most proud of the impact my products have had on people’s lives. Hearing stories from individuals who have used my card game to navigate difficult conversations or found solace in the messages of my podcast is incredibly rewarding.
Getting to where I am today has been a journey filled with challenges. It was not easy, but I overcame these challenges by staying true to my vision and remaining resilient in the face of adversity. I learned the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and the value of surrounding myself with a supportive team and friends.
I want the world to know that my brand is more than just products; it’s a movement towards creating a more honest and authentic dating culture. My story is one of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Visiting LA with me is all about experiencing the city’s vibrant social scene and unique offerings. Since many of my friends are single and work office jobs, a trip here is their ultimate vacation.
We’d kick off the day with a Barry’s Bootcamp session to soak up the amazing West Coast weather. After working up an appetite, we’d head to Hugo’s for their delicious breakfast salad, or maybe try the truffle & eggs at Croft Alley, or opt for a quick bite at Bravo Toast.
For some midday excitement, shopping on Melrose is a must. We love exploring the thrift stores and supporting local designers to find one-of-a-kind pieces that make us stand out from the crowd.
Lunch is always a lively affair with drinks flowing. Hudson House Restaurant & Raw Bar is a favorite, offering espresso martinis and Palomas that are out of this world. For a taste of old-school LA glamour, Sunset Tower is a top pick, where spotting someone cool is almost guaranteed. If we’re in the mood for something more laid-back, Jackson Market’s gorgeous patio is perfect.
As night falls, we’d head to GiGi’s or Casaleña for dinner, followed by a visit to No Vacancy, Dirty Laundry, or Employees Only for a night of fun and mingling.
On the weekends, you’ll find us at Thunderbird Sports Bar or The Bungalow, doing research for my card game and podcast or meeting new friends. We’re determined to enjoy every moment before we age out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“Yes, my older siblings deserve a huge shoutout. At the age of 8, I was left in their care as my dad was a diplomat and my mom and him traveled back and forth a lot. My older siblings really had to step up and become parents to their younger siblings overnight. They made countless sacrifices to ensure that I could be here in this moment, if I have a United States chart-topping podcast, a successful card game, and a candle collection it’s because of them.
If I’m educated, if I made it through school, if I excelled in sports, extracurriculars, or anything professionally, it’s because of my older brothers and sisters. They’ve taught me everything I know, from work ethic to how to be a leader, to how to execute any vision or plan I have. I lost my dad in 2022, but I never feel his absence because I still have five dads on Earth to make proud.
