We had the good fortune of connecting with Ale Farias and Magali Parquet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ale Farias and Magali Parquet, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I think our biggest challenge was to be in different countries and create a long distance business partnership. We had to set goals that were achievable for both of us and turn our side business to a profitable business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
TdmAle is the materialization of our creative concepts and ideas. We craft one of a kind pieces made out of clay and we call this pieces “Churros” Even thought each piece is done hand free we discover that at the end they resemble a real life object that inspired us. One of the things that inspire us the most is coming from Paraguay and Mexico where our culture integrates art into chaos and at a very young age our culture taught us to pay attention to detail and our Churros are a representation of that.
We are proud that each piece has had a creative thought process behind it and are crafted by our hands. We are excited to keep pushing our creative boundaries, to remain as limitless as possible so our creativity can be at the forefront of our DNA.
I think that one of the most difficult things in a partnership is to recognize multitask is the key to grow and it is essential to know the how to of every area in order to be able to delegate tasks.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As creatives we love to watch and analyze people to get inspiration from all the diversity. A perfect day for us will look like these: Starting with our caffeine dose at Maru Coffee, going around and stopping at some of our favorite thrift stores such as Los Rodeos in Echo park and Hutch vintage in Hollywood. After that, we go to have lunch at Joy that is located in one of the coolest areas of the city, Highland Park. This street is perfect to walk around, go to stores, grab a coffee and enjoy the daylight. For dinner, (cause our itinerary is always based on food as you can see) our favorite spots with the nicest vibe, food and/or drinks are Oriel, Cafe Triste, Bar Stella and Gold Line. To finish our day, every now and then we stop by at Jumbos with our friends to have a beer and get empowered by women.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are beyond grateful for those stylists and creatives that gave us the opportunity of collaborating with them when we just started the project. It gave us a lot of motivation the fact that we were working one on one with artist we really admire.
