We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Stobo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, how do you think about risk?

My entire life/career has been built on blind courage, thinking “what I don’t know won’t hurt me” has been a great opportunity for creating results outside the box. The ability to dive in head first and learn to swim has been one of my greatest strengths. There have been mistakes, some costly and some emotionally draining, but the results have been incredibly uplifting. Pivoting when necessary always offers options that I may not have thought of on my own. Divine support is something I can always count on after taking a leap of faith.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I started my career by using my body to experiment with reactions to foods and created a manual for anti-inflammatory foods that became a best-selling transitional cookbook, “Get Naked Fast”. I followed with many more e-books and a coaching business. That led to a brick-and-mortar healing hotel; The Retreat Costa Rica, a destination wellness spa that has been honored as the  top 10 in the world by Conde Nast travelers. I wanted to provide a program where people could experience the benefits of an anti-inflammatory diet and begin their journey to wellness. Simultaneously, I created a prebiotic/probiotic gut health nutrition bar called “Truth Bar”. What I have discovered along the way is that not every business owner has ‘integrity’ in their ethos. My path to success may have been easier if I didn’t have a results-driven desire to truly help people feel good. Nothing worth it comes easy, at least not for me. I have learned so much about myself, my strengths and weaknesses, and who I am meant to be in the world. I have never asked for help for myself, but have worked diligently to teach and develop the people who have supported me along the way. I want people to know that this is a passion project, one that has taken on a life of its own, and has become my mentor in this life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It is always to the beach, long walks on the boardwalk in Santa Monica, strolling down to Venice Beach to people watch and enjoy all the diversity of life. I love walking, and there are so many great places to explore and chat with friends. Runyun Canyon is a favorite, and also a good spotting ground for celebrities, which tends to excite friends. I love to explore any hot or exciting restaurants. As a foodie, it has to be good, but with a curious nature, the ambiance and the clientele are also decision-making factors. I would have to show my friend all the iconic places, Beverly Hills Hotel for lunch, just because. But also some classics like Spago, Nobu, and Dan Tanas. Then, for the fun historical joints I like El Coyote and Neptunes Net. I suppose at some point I would have to ask my friends what they want, and then themy itinerary may change.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

A Course In Miracles is a unique self-study. program designed to awaken us to the truth of our oneness with universal love. With these lessons, I have been able to trust and grow to manifest my ultimate desires. Another shout-out would be my Kundalini teacher telling me “I can have it all”. But the biggest shout-out goes to all the naysayers who didn’t see me and gave me the ammunition to show them who I am.
