We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenni White, Founder and CEO of PolarisMarketing.io, and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenni, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand, business, professional identity, and company culture has been maintaining integrity with client expectations and consistently going the extra mile to achieve results. Ultimately, I believe client success, and therefore, our success as an agency, is dependent on strategy after careful analysis, working with the right team to meet our responsibilities, and fostering synergy between our team and our clients, resulting in long-term success. I remember when I started to notice that we were one of the few agencies in LA with 5-star ratings on Google, Yelp, and an A-rating with the BBB. I realized we had achieved something significant when more and more clients started reaching out to us from all over the country based on our brand name and reputation. Brand, ultimately, reflects its creator, team, values, execution, and outcomes.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I first started this company, it was out of an extremely difficult life circumstance which forced me to retool and reinvent every single aspect of my life. It began as a consultancy and then morphed into a full-stack marketing agency. It definitely was not easy, as I had no background in digital marketing except for managing teams for various startups that I had consulted with. I had to source all of my own subject matter experts, build my internal and remote teams, take numerous courses, read blogs, follow other industry experts, listen to podcasts, watch YouTube tutorials, and continuously experiment with strategies, teams, and resources. It was a constant barrage of continuous learning that ultimately resulted in me figuring out the best ways to analyze each client uniquely while utilizing the appropriate tech stack, leading to a winning recipe for success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
OK, so I love brunch in Malibu at Geoffrey’s. It reminds me of the South of France, and it’s always a perfect Saturday or Sunday brunch place. Then I would head over to Soho House or Nobu for a cocktail on the beach. Daytime is best for a little retail therapy, so I would head to Santa Monica or if I felt like thrifting and being funky, head over to Melrose. Some of my favorite pieces have been up-and-coming designers that I find in various stores along Melrose. I love the Comedy Store for stand-up comedy when you need a mid-week chuckle. Fabulous steak dinner at BLVD in Sherman Oaks, and I would also indulge in a body scrub at Wi Spa. It was epic; you will never sleep so well after a day at Wi Spa. Reset and refresh!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout-out to my client Ignacio Alvestegui, the owner of Aria Commercial Cleaning. I have greatly enjoyed working with him; he runs a phenomenal business and has secured contracts with multiple public entities and private sectors as well. I’m impressed with his drive, energy, tenacity, and the care with which he manages his business, employees, and client engagement.
