We had the good fortune of connecting with Roula Aljabban and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roula, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My business was built with the thought of empowering women thru beauty. We juggle so much everyday and we tend to forget taking care of ourselves, that’s when some might lose self confidence because of the lack of time. Whether it’s a full time job or stay at home mom, it takes away the thought to selfcare. I personally have fallen into that trap and was busy raising kids, running a business, taking care of everyone but me, and that’s where my beauty business thought came in. I wanted to give women their self confidence back or even stronger by making them look and feel beautiful. A simple facial treatment or Brow enhancement can make looking in the mirror throw a smile on their faces.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My businesses (LANA BEAUTY BAR & BROWZ BY LBB) are built on trust, which I think is the most valuable key to success. In my type of business, I want clients to come back and refer their family and friends, therefore, honesty is very important to me. I will never sell you a service or product just to make money, I want you to be happy, understand what and why I am recommending either. Like I mentioned earlier, the challenges I had to overcome were losing my father and husband 19 weeks apart, while trying to grieve, I had to stay strong for my kids first, my mom and myself. Yet I never stopped, I kept going because I knew that I needed to push harder and work more. It will always be a lesson to my kids to never go down, no matter what we come across in life, stand strong.
I also have my own brand LANA BEAUTY, because I had ideas I wanted to make, like the LANA BEAUTY exfoliating mitt and the cotton split towels, which are only sold at www.lanabeautybar.com and Amazon. Creating something gives me joy, especially when I know that it will be a successful, useful, and unique product not found anywhere else.
I also am a big believer in LED light therapy, so you will for sure find multiple devices with my brand to purchase.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, living in Southern California makes a trip full of adventures. Let’s say I have a friend visiting, we definitely will hit the beaches and have lunch or breakfast on the water. My favorite spot in Boat house on the Bay in LB, water view and amazing food. Of course there will be all the adventure parks, especially Universal Studios and Disneyland. If we were up for it, a hike around the beach in laguna would be great or by the Hollywood sign. I love sushi, so for sure taking my bestie to an amazing sushi place in LB called @sushi, yup it is called @ sushi. That wraps up my favorite spots, but for sure there are plenty to see when in Southern California, will be left up to my bestie 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is to my kids. They were very supportive in understanding that mom needed to go to school in person just like they did to accomplish her dream career. They are my top priority in life and I work hard everyday to support them and be there for them. Not to forget my amazing family and friends who stood by me after losing my dad and husband back to back a couple years into starting my business. These humans will forever be appreciated and loved by myself and kids.
