Hi Erin Joy, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
The most important part of my life is the relationships I’ve built and the impact I’ve had on others. I hope my legacy will be remembered for doing good in the world, leading with my values, and serving with love. I aspire to leave behind a legacy of strong, meaningful relationships and inspire others to confidently pursue their biggest dreams.

One of the most rewarding experiences has been connecting with kids through my books at various events. Seeing their eyes light up when they realize how cool chemistry can be and the endless possibilities it holds for them is truly heartwarming. These moments underscore my belief that anyone, regardless of their background, can find joy and success in STEM.

Leading with my values and serving with love has brought immense joy to my work. It keeps me in a positive mental state, excited, and driven to contribute more to society. Whether through my nonprofit, Theory of Joy, or mentorship programs, I strive to infuse my work with love, truth, honesty, faith, risk-taking, and grace. These principles guide my actions and decisions, ensuring I remain true to my mission of uplifting others.

I have been privileged to mentor individuals as they pursue unique careers and vocations. It’s incredibly exciting to witness the uniqueness of each person, and sometimes, all they need is the stability of a supportive relationship and unwavering faith to succeed. Providing this support and seeing them flourish has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey.

Ultimately, I want to be remembered for building strong relationships, leading with my heart, and inspiring others to believe in themselves. My legacy, I hope, will be one of love, joy, and the empowerment of others to reach for their dreams and make their mark on the world.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is about helping clients discover their strengths and align their academic and professional aspirations with their core values. By the end of my course, clients will have a comprehensive understanding of their strengths, effectively identify a suitable major, navigate the college application process with confidence, and craft an interesting personal statement. They’ll also discern their long-term life goals and ensure they resonate harmoniously with their values. This holistic approach empowers clients to pursue their dreams with clarity and conviction.

In addition, clients have the opportunity to create tailored resumes that emphasize relevant experiences and skills aligned with their desired major. They’ll also gain proficiency in college selection, financial planning, and decision-making processes, equipped with the tools and insights to navigate each stage effectively. In addition, I have the joy of writing children’s books that educate young minds about the wonders of chemistry.

What excites me most about my business is sharing my knowledge with the world and helping people put their best foot forward. I love seeing clients get excited and fully aligned with their career and future goals. It wasn’t easy to get here, but it has been worth it to follow my passion and help others do the same.

Moving from the Philippines at 15 and figuring everything out on my own was challenging. This experience inspired me to help others navigate college and share what I’ve learned. Creating mentorship programs and connecting people to realize their utmost potential has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing someone recognize their growth and the results of their hard work is what keeps me going.

Clients love my ability to connect with them and my genuine care for their growth and confidence. Before each session, I work hard to establish rapport, taking the time to get to know them better. This stronger connection allows me to understand how best to help them, making our sessions more effective and enjoyable.

In the end, I want the world to know that I’m here to help people realize their dreams, just as I have, and to inspire them to achieve their full potential.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit, I would ensure they have an unforgettable week filled with the finest food, breathtaking sights, and remarkable experiences! To kick things off, we would head to the Hollywood Farmers Market for a brunch that includes fresh strawberries, beautiful flowers, and incredible Thai cuisine. Afterward, we would make our way to Griffith Observatory to admire the stunning views of the Hollywood sign and delve into fascinating scientific facts through telescopes and exhibits. Next on our list would be Downtown LA, where we would explore The Last Bookstore, visit the Crypto Arena, and indulge in a variety of delectable foods at the Grand Central Market before dining at Maccheroni Republic. If there happened to be a concert in town, we would definitely attend! Mid-week, we would dedicate a day to self-care, treating ourselves to a relaxing spa visit, a float tank experience, and an enjoyable workout class. Dining in West Hollywood at my favorite restaurant, Cavatina, would be an absolute must – their scallops are simply divine. For a lovely evening, we would take a leisurely stroll through Larchmont Village, with some delicious ice cream in hand. Hiking enthusiasts would absolutely adore the Twin Falls Trail in the Angeles National Forest, and no trip to LA would be complete without a beach day in Malibu. We would have a delightful brunch at Cafe on 27, enjoying the best views, and wrap up our day with a romantic dinner at Jeffery’s, savoring their flavorful dishes. Theme parks are a must so we will visit the Warner Brothers and the Universal Studios Hollywood! With this well-planned itinerary, my best friend would truly get a taste of the vibrant and diverse offerings that LA has to offer!
