Meet Isaac Priest | Creative Director & Actor/Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaac Priest and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isaac, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I graduated a bachelor branded fashion design through Billy Blue college and I knew I wanted to develop my own label. Isaac James was formed with the goal to empower individuals through clothing allowing them to find their confidence. Craftsmanship, experience and using the ever evolving technology is extremely important to me and what I keep in mind with the brand. Me personally, I struggle finding clothes that are my size with a bit of character and thats what I strive for allowing anyone to shop at Isaac James. The brands first collection was titled ‘Director of your Dreams.’ This allowed my 2 careers to collide bringing a touch of the film industry and fashion.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For the past several years I have been immersed and working within the fashion industry as well as the film industry. Being a creative director of a fashion label and also acting/producing, I would love to say it has been easy but it really hasn’t. Both careers I guess I could say have been growing and excelling exponentially together however, the fact they can go hand in hand does make it that bit easier. One of the biggest lessons I have learnt is that you can’t do everything yourself. Having a team has been a major blessing and when I ‘make it’ its we all make it. Skill sets from both industry’s do work together and for the film producing world I have taken knowledge from producing a brand and collections which has helped tremendously in film. And I’m obsessed with the art of storytelling which also goes hand in hand. Overcoming challenges for me sounds so cliche but is talking it out with people you trust and finding solutions. What I want people to know is that whatevever dreams you have they are achievable. I’m a kid from a small coastal town in Australia and if i can do it, I know all of you can!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Okey I’m a big brunch person so thats how the weekend would start. We’d go for a morning walk along the water near my house and then go to this cafe I visit all the time. We’d then jump in the car and go to the Gallery of Modern art and walk through the exhibitions they have there. A little coffee stop again after of course. There may be a little beach picnic at sunset and then George’s pizza in sanctuary cove for dinner with a Cab Sav or espresso martini. Because everything i do is always so busy or chaotic, I love just doing simple things and spending quality chill time with my friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many shoutouts to people that I have to thank for helping and supporting me along my journey and still continue to. Firstly, my family. They have been truly supportive even when times got tough and I wouldn’t be were I am without their love and support. Next is my Business partner and Mentor. Martin Morris. He has been there with me every step of the way guiding, shaping and teaching me everything within the business world and has been the person that has opened doors for me in achieving my dreams which I will be eternally grateful for. And of course my friends. They are with me through everything and I couldn’t do anything without them.
