We had the good fortune of connecting with Yesica Orozco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yesica, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Sometimes I struggle, but at the end of the day I think about what makes me happy. And if I’m doing what makes me happy, that inspires me to keep going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a singer i have been through. a lot of difficulties, it has not been an easy path. I have struggled with hate online, which at first really had me giving up. I started going viral on TikTok rather quickly and the hate was rushing in, I had to have a talk with myself and learn that not everyone is going to like what I do and that’s okay. If I want to keep doing what I do I have to remind myself of that everyday. I have attended various competitions in my city in which I have one 1st place in a few, my favorite I have done is audition for LA VOZ USA which is The Voice but in Spanish, that was an amazing opportunity. Right now I am focused on continuing my music career and start up a bit of beauty and fashion on my social media.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite things to do in my city is Chiefs games! But my ideal itinerary is, going out to nature. I love the Shawnee Mission Park and spending time at the lake, I love going to Cinemark to catch a good movie. We can’t miss JOES BBQ for some good BBQ! We would also be going downtown to our newly added Ferris Wheel to take a good view of the city, and it it’s summer time a good trip to Oceans Of Fun for the hot weather.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family, especially my mom and sister always being there to film my videos.
