The most important lesson I’ve learned in my career is to focus on my own progress, not someone else’s. We are all different, and you might never know what they had to go through to get where they are. I like to compare progress to flowers. We usually see the bloom on top, but we don’t know how much time it took to get there, how much effort it took to ground the roots, grow the stem, and then how long and tedious it was for the flower to open.
