We had the good fortune of connecting with Quilan “Cue” Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quilan “Cue”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
onCUE Chronicles creates, unites, and empowers healthy and wealthy artists through dance-centered products. My thought process behind beginning this business is multi fold:

1. Artists are the creative minority who hold the most power to convince the apathetic in our society to fight for justice for all from a place of love.

2. Artists need to get beyond the “starving artist” mentality that society has bestowed upon us. We must believe that we can thrive, then behave accordingly, so that we can achieve the mission above from a place of abundance.

3. Artists need to have a supportive community of likeminded individuals where we focus on our crafts, optimal ways to make money, and most impactful ways to engage with our other communities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
onCUE Chronicles is unlike any other entity as it is prioritizes the development of creators, the enlightenment of audiences, and the liberation for people under Usonian oppressive systems.

We provide a metaphorical playground where artists gather for education; and create empowering products, services, and experiences. We utilize these artists to create movement-based products that provide non-artists a deeper connection with their humanity. Finally we encourage audiences to use their resources to invest in justice initiatives. Primary initiatives include antiracism, economic elevation for artists, free movement-based education, and prison reformation.

No creative endeavor has ever come easy for me. This is why I do it; for I do not grow unless I face resistance that challenges my humanity. Embodying the philosophical intersections between Jesus Christ, Afro-Usonian (African-American/”Black”), and Afro-Latin cultures is what keeps me going in love. The primary lesson I’ve learned from that intersectionality is that there’s no correct answer, but the answers the manifest from love, hope, faith, and peace are the ones that will change our world for the better.

I desire for the world to know that I love them, and that onCUE Chronicles will work to create a world where each of us can unapologetically express ourselves in the name of love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
1. Hamilton Park in Weehawken to watch the sun fall on the NYC skyline. 2. Black Nile Soul Food in Brooklyn, NY
3. Walk along the Brooklyn Bridget
4. Summer House Dance Parties
5. Street/Club Dance competitions and sessions

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my parents, Harold and Dalia Arnold, for raising me with a focus on Jesus as Christ and what that means for my mental and behavioral living. Shoutout to my sister, Kyrsten Arnold, for being my biggest and longest friend. Shoutout to my Grandparents for the multitude of sacrifices they made to cultivate strong healthy families with roots in the Kingdom of Heaven.
