We had the good fortune of connecting with Afrogoldie (linda) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Afrogoldie, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Personally, “fake it till you make it” is advice I don’t relate to. Every time I hear it, I go, “uh!”. This approach suggests that pretending to be something you’re not will eventually lead to becoming that thing. While it might build confidence in some cases, it can also lead to inauthenticity and stress. Instead, I believe in focusing on genuine self-improvement and gradually developing skills and knowledge. Authentic growth and honest effort create more lasting and fulfilling success than relying on pretense.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a reflection of my soul, blending my African heritage with the vibrant energy of pop. What sets me apart is myself and the fusion of cultures in my music, creating a sound that’s both fresh and deeply rooted in my identity. I’m proud of how I’ve been able to stay true to myself while also evolving as an artist, and I’m particularly excited about my upcoming projects that will showcase even more of this unique blend.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. There were moments of panic, especially when I moved from Italy to Los Angeles, a city that can be both inspiring and intimidating. But I’ve learned that perseverance, staying grounded, and surrounding myself with positive and supportive people are key. Challenges have come in many forms—cultural barriers, industry expectations, and even self-doubt—but I’ve always faced them head-on by remembering my love for music and my desire to make a difference through my art.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to embrace your uniqueness and know that everything has its own timing. It’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing. I want the world to know that my music is more than just entertainment; My brand is about shaking up the status quo, making an impact and empowering others through a bold and fearless aesthetic. So if you’re listening to Afrogoldie, know that you’re not just listening a song—you’re connecting with a story that celebrates culture, confidence, and creativity.

Los Angeles has so much to offer, it’s a city that truly has something for everyone. I’ll make sure my best friend leaves with memories to last a lifetime!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to the incredible people who have believed in me and helped shape my journey with their guidance and collaboration. First, to my family for their support and love, especially during those pivotal moments in Pieve Di Soligo when I was just dreaming about LA. My dear friend Allen Shay, director of Sociaty TV, has been a guiding light in Los Angeles, and I’m also grateful to the director of Radio Wow, Stefano Mattara, for the opportunities he gave me. To the amazing producers and collaborators who have pushed me to explore new ideas, and of course, to my friends and fans who make every performance and release so meaningful. Special thanks to organizations like CTAOP and Legambiente that inspire me to use my platform for good, and to Rihanna, who continues to show me that embracing your heritage and individuality can break barriers and create a legacy. I’m forever grateful. And, I have to shoutout God too!
