Meet Topher Hall | Actor & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Topher Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Topher, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been drawn to the arts, especially films, because I love how they bring people together. It all started when I was an usher at a dollar theater. Watching how movies could light up a room and create shared experiences really resonated with me. I realized that storytelling, in any form, has the power to connect people and bridge differences. I pursued a creative career not only because I love it, but because I believe art is essential in helping people see the world from new perspectives. A big part of my inspiration also came from watching my grandfather. He had this pure joy whenever he watched Westerns, and seeing him light up like that made me realize how impactful art can be on a personal level. It’s moments like that which remind me why I do what I do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got to where I am today through sheer grit and determination. I’ve always believed that the world doesn’t hand you anything—you have to earn it. I’ve worked tirelessly, often outworking others, because I know that success doesn’t come easily, especially in this industry. There’s no playbook for what we do, and I’ve learned that what works for someone else won’t necessarily work for me. It’s all about staying in your own lane, focusing on your journey, and avoiding distractions. There’s a great quote by Denzel Washington: ‘Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference,’ and that’s something I carry with me.
One thing I’ve learned is that sometimes you have to take untraditional steps to get noticed. People will often tell you not to do something if they think you’re not ready, but sometimes you have to step out on faith. That leap can lead you to places you never imagined. One of my biggest challenges has been staying mentally grounded and focused, especially when it feels like progress is slow. I’ve worked hard to maintain my mental health, using tools and taking breaks when needed. It can be tough when you feel like you’re not moving fast enough, but even one small step forward is progress.
What sets me apart is my dedication to being my authentic self and my craft. There’s only one you, and that’s your power—no one else can bring what you do to the table. It takes time, but staying true to yourself will always lead to something meaningful.
I’m incredibly proud of being cast in this incredible film called Oswald Down the Rabbit Hole with Ernie Hudson, directed by Lilton Stewart III. It’s a project I believe in deeply, and it’s been an amazing step in my journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, you guys are about to find out all my favorite spots… ok, so we’d definitely start by hitting up The Original Farmers Market by the Grove. Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade have something to offer for everyone. I love to show my guests the ocean views and a walk along the beach is a great way to end a meal. I can’t help but be atttacted to Venice Beach. Muscle Beach and the Boardwalk are such a vibe, and you always see something interesting.
For breakfast, I’d take them to places like Blu Jam Café in Hollywood or Huckleberry in Santa Monica. These spots have amazing menus and a great atmosphere. One of my favorite things to do is go on a hike, and for that, I’d take them to Runyon Canyon. It’s not too far from the city, but the views are spectacular, and it’s a perfect spot for soaking in LA’s energy.
Throughout the week, we’d hit up places like Malibu for a day trip—maybe grab lunch at Malibu Farm right on the pier. We’d also explore cool spots in Downtown LA like The Broad Museum or grab some tacos at Grand Central Market. And the week wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Griffith Observatory to take in the skyline.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give the most credit to my mother. She’s been my greatest source of strength and inspiration. Raising two kids on her own, she worked tirelessly without ever complaining, and through her example, I learned the value of hard work and resilience. She instilled in me the belief that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it. Those lessons have been with me my entire life, shaping who I am both personally and professionally. Her unwavering dedication and strength are at the core of everything I do.
