We had the good fortune of connecting with Asahi Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Asahi, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by love. I am inspired by the invisible tethers that hold together the hearts of people. I am inspired by the love it takes for the Great Spirit to continue the blowing of winds and the rising of the sun. My own company, Twin Sun, is inspired by the concept and eventual scientific acknowledgement of binary star systems. The idea is that a large proportion of the stars in the Milky Way are actually partnered with a companion star, and they share an orbit that takes them far away from each other and back to each other. So I see the mark, the sign, of love and connection even in the heavens above.
Out of that love, I wish to feed people good food in a positive environment; as well as offer knowledge and products surrounding natural medicine and good diets. So that we can all live a long and healthy life. Emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started working at the age of 14 and started cooking Yakitori at the age of 16. I spent many years cooking yakitori, but then moved to Berkeley, CA to attend college. All of the other jobs I picked up along the way were customer facing service jobs, with the last few years being primarily a restaurant server. I did work in fitness oriented establishments for a total of 4 years.
Working from such a young age and continuing to do so throughout college wasn’t easy at all. Nor was figuring out who I am as a person and what I want to do in my career. I have overcome a lot of my past traumas that put so many blocks on seeing the clearest path for myself, so I am able to be here now and decide that I want to make a business out of my own talents. That is what will fulfill my need to express my created purpose in life. I want the world to know never to give up on finding who you are. There is so much noise, so many talents you have that pull you in many possible futures. All futures are possible, please keep walking the path and just try things out.
