Meet Jennifer Hampton | C.E.O. & Model/Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Hampton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
Honestly, the hardest decision I had to make was leaving everything I knew in New York—my people, my comfort zone, my whole vibe—to move, all the way across the country, to L.A. I didn’t know a soul out here, but I felt like I had to take that leap if I really wanted to level up in my career and education. It took a lot of faith in myself and trust that I’d figure things out, even with all the unknowns. It wasn’t easy, but I knew staying in my comfort zone wouldn’t get me where I wanted to go.

What should our readers know about your business?
Slays Entertainment Management LLC is all about elevating talent and making sure that each artist shines in their own light. What sets us apart is our genuine commitment to each client’s growth, combined with a level of care and dedication that goes beyond business. I’m proud to say that when people work with us, they feel like they’re a part of something special—not just a management firm but a family that truly wants to see them succeed.
Getting to where I am today with Slays Entertainment Management wasn’t easy; it took time, a lot of resilience, and a whole lot of hustle. I came to L.A. to build a future and pushed through every challenge without knowing anyone here. Every step along the way taught me about the power of faith, persistence, and staying true to myself.
The biggest lesson? Don’t rush the process. Growth takes time, and if you stay focused on your vision, you’ll get there. I want people to know that Slays Entertainment Management is built on real passion and belief in each artist we work with. This isn’t just a business; it’s the product of faith, family support, and hard work. Our story is about breaking barriers and helping others do the same, one artist at a time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend rolled through L.A., I’d make sure she got the real deal—vibes, culture, relaxation, and everything in between. Here’s the itinerary:
Day 1: Santa Monica & Venice Beach Vibes
We’d kick things off with a chill day at Santa Monica Pier, soaking up the sun and taking a stroll down the boardwalk. Then we’d head to Venice Beach to catch the local scene—skaters, artists, and all that good energy while sipping on fresh smoothies.
Day 2: Black Excellence in Leimert Park & Dinner at Mastro’s
We’d vibe out in Leimert Park, where Black culture is alive and thriving. We’d explore the art galleries, support local vendors, and maybe catch some live drumming or spoken word. Dinner at Mastro’s in Beverly Hills would set the mood for a sophisticated night with delicious food and a little glam.
Day 3: Comedy & Hollywood Nights
Laughter is the best medicine, so we’d hit up The Comedy Union for some of the funniest Black comedians in the game. After that, we’d take a stroll down the Hollywood Walk of Fame to soak in the city lights and all that star power.
Day 4: Girly Spa Day, Shopping & Rooftop Drinks
This day is all about self-care and indulgence. We’d start with a relaxing spa treatment at Burke Williams Spa in West Hollywood, followed by some retail therapy on Melrose or at the Beverly Center. We’d wrap it all up with rooftop drinks at EP & LP, where we can toast to our fabulousness while taking in the skyline.
Day 5: Soul Food Brunch & Poetry Lounge
Brunch is a must, so we’d hit up Comfort LA or Roscoe’s for some serious soul food. Later, we’d head to The Poetry Lounge in Fairfax for an open mic night, soaking in the creativity and talent of the local scene. It’s all about real talk and connecting with the community.
Day 6: Scenic Views & Networking
We’d hike up to the Hollywood sign for some breathtaking views of the city, then make our way to Griffith Observatory for a chill afternoon. That night, we’d tap into the networking scene with a mixer—L.A. has some of the best events for creatives, and we’d be sure to meet some inspiring people.
Day 7: Sunday Brunch & Karaoke Night
We’d close out the week with brunch at The Serving Spoon in Inglewood—always a hit. Then it’s karaoke time! Whether we’re belting out our favorite songs or just vibing with the crowd, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of an epic week.
This is L.A. at its finest—a blend of culture, creativity, and fun that adds to my New York roots while carving out my own space in this vibrant city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my mother, the real MVP and the matriarch of our family. She’s invested so much—money, endless time, and every ounce of belief in me—just so I could have a shot at my dreams. Without her faith, guidance, and all the sacrifices she made, I wouldn’t be where I am or have the skills I carry today. I’m grateful every day that God blessed me with a mom who didn’t just give me life but poured her own heart into building mine. I’m forever thankful to her and to God for every opportunity and all the love that got me here.
