We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Sheridan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Georgia, how do you think about risk?
Many people who know me well see me as a risk-taker, but I don’t quite see myself that way. I consider myself a calculated risk-taker. I’m drawn to adventure and constantly challenge myself by moving the goal post further. I’ve realized that when I take a leap or face a risk, my fear of failure drives me to go beyond what I thought was possible. There have definitely been moments of doubt, and it’s always a bit intimidating, but one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that if I’m going to bet on anything, it should be on myself. Each risk I’ve taken builds more self-confidence and helps me prove to myself that I’m capable of more than I imagined.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What drove me to begin my business, and what sustains it, is my love for creating interesting photos. I believe what makes a captivating photo is composition. With a background and degree in dance, I draw a lot of my inspirations from that art form. I began my career post-grad as a dancer, and when I transitioned to being a photographer and business owner, the transition was more seamless than one may think. Many of the skills I developed as a dancer easily translated into photography and entrepreneurship. I believe these transferable skills could help me succeed in various fields, which is why I’m deeply passionate about the role of arts in education.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
