We had the good fortune of connecting with Toni Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toni, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing people don’t realize about the legal industry is that the law is like a diva—she’s unapologetic, unrelenting, and doesn’t care about your feelings or your lack of knowledge. When she shows up, whether it’s through a compliance check, a lawsuit, or a regulatory demand, she expects respect and preparation. You can’t charm or avoid her; you have to meet her on her terms. That’s why I tell my clients, ‘Don’t wait until the law shows up to get your house in order—stay ahead of her and you’ll always win the fight.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a businesswoman and a business and trademark lawyer, but more importantly, I’m an advocate for turning ideas into lasting legacies. My mission is simple: I help entrepreneurs transform their LLCs into long-lasting currency by creating businesses that are not only profitable but also protected.

With over 25 years of experience, I’ve worked with individuals and businesses to develop strategies, protect intellectual property, and navigate the often-overlooked legal side of entrepreneurship. What sets me apart is my approach: I don’t just throw legal jargon at you—I empower you to see the law as a tool to build wealth and secure your future.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that many startup entrepreneurs either fear the law or completely ignore it until it’s too late—when their brand is stolen, they’re hit with lawsuits, or worse, they leave behind what I call a ‘bizmess’ for their families to clean up. I’m here to change that narrative.

What I want the world to know is this: we have the power to create generational wealth through entrepreneurship, but it starts with doing business the right way. If it isn’t legal, it’s a liability—and that liability can bankrupt the very legacy you’re trying to build. My brand is about empowering business owners to not just dream big but to protect those dreams with smart, legal strategies. Because when you boss up legally, you don’t just build a business—you build a fortress for your future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Philadelphia is a city rich in history, culture, and innovation, and I’d craft the perfect week to showcase its best. We’d start at Mother Bethel AME, the oldest African Methodist Episcopal Church, to honor its legacy, then visit the iconic Liberty Bell. As a proud alum, I’d take you to the University of Pennsylvania, where my journey began, and Temple Law School, where I built the legal foundation of my career. A visit to my church would introduce you to my spiritual family and the power of community. For a true taste of Philly, we’d explore the culinary delights of Reading Terminal Market and indulge in farm-to-table chic at The Love in Rittenhouse Square. Fashion enthusiasts would love the Philadelphia Fashion District, which highlights Designers of Color, and REC Philly, a creative hub for entrepreneurs. To feed the soul, we’d tour the Barnes Foundation’s world-class art collections and The African American Museum. We’d wrap up the week with a toast at Harper’s Garden, an elegant outdoor venue, and a mural tour to celebrate Philly’s vibrant art scene. From history to haute cuisine, this city is a playground for urban, chic business owners seeking inspiration.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
