We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Dustin Plattner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Plattner, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One of the most important factors for my success is gaining a greater understanding of myself. Without safe people around me helping me see how I can grow, I would not be where I am today. Generosity of care, kindness, and support from others is what I found to be a major factor in creating my personal growth. Overtime, I began to learn more about myself for the betterment of my success. My advice to others would be to find good people in your life that support and lift you up. We cannot become who we want to be without the help of others.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a clinical psychologist. I work with kids and families to create more peace in the home through facilitating an understanding of family dynamics by bringing clarity to the mental life of each family member. More understanding in these areas creates greater communication, which leads to more peace and unity within the family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As I can speak for parents and families, some of the best spots are the beaches and hiking trails here in Southern California. These are low cost activities that create a lot of fun for families while offering many bonding opportunities for kids and parents.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out would have to be towards my professional community especially my supervisor and my analyst. Without their dedicated support and generosity, I would not be at my professional capacity as I am now. Moreover, the understanding of Natural Law organized by Mark Passio as a true compass for creating greater Love in the world has been instrumental in creating a paradigm shift in my understanding.
