We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In starting my personal brand, Sowing Stability, I wanted to find a way to connect my expertise around the mind and body along with my passion for our planet. I hold a somewhat audacious belief that a sustainable future is attainable for all and this is because I believe sustainability starts with a solid foundation of wellness and stability within ourselves. I’m certain that the more secure we feel within our body and mind, the more consciously and confidently we can share our ideas and unique gifts with the world.

I’ve come to realize that the deeper we connect with ourselves, the deeper we will experience and honor the air we breathe, the ground beneath our feet, and the natural beauty surrounding us.

My goal with Sowing Stability is to help my audience feel inspired to take action against climate change and provide the resources and education to do so effortlessly. I’m thrilled to be growing a platform where I can promote eco-focused products, activist efforts, and provide services that nurture both personal well-being and the health of our planet.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe we are each wildly capable and filled to the brim with greatness, but our world is quick to snuff out our innate impulse of creativity if we do not remain vigilant. Whether I’m coaching clients, speaking to an audience, or writing a post for my blog, the subtext will always be to help others feel more confident, safe, and secure within themselves and what they have to offer.

My desire to help others heal and find clarity in their lives comes from my own past experience. From an early age, I struggled to see my value and worth. I didn’t believe I was capable of creating a new path or story for my life and, because of this, I’ve dealt with extreme lows including depression, self-harm, tumultuous career paths and relationships, and even homelessness. It’s not been easy, but I’ve arrived at where I am today by leveraging the power of the human mind, learning how to somatically clear past trauma, outdated patterns and belief systems, and maintaining the sheer stubbornness to not give up.

A favorite mantra of mine is, “You are as worthy, deserving, and capable of having a life that you love as anyone else on this planet,” and when I share this with others, I make sure to emphasize that this is despite where you’ve been, despite what has happened to you, and despite where you are today. As long as you are awake and breathing, you choose where you want go from here.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that a world can exist where we all live life on our own terms — so long as we also choose to operate from a place of collaboration, empathy, and mutual respect for one another. This has been demonstrated to me time and time again and what excites me most about building a brand that embodies these principals. My mission is to be an advocate for holistic practices and conscious choices while joining forces with other brilliant minds and creators that hold a similar vision.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I love any chance I get to be a tourist so we’d definitely hit up the somewhat cliche spots to find our favorite stars on the Walk of Fame, check out the view from Griffiths Observatory, take a drive to Malibu. Comedy is something my closest friends and I have always bonded over so a visit to Uprights Citizen Brigade or Laugh Factory would be a must.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many books, organizations, and trainings that have inspired me to do the work that I’m doing today. Some catalysts include Kiss the Ground for their regenerative movement, Gregg Braden and Bruce Lipton for helping me understand humanity’s collective potential, and Loren and Andrew Hogue from NEUROFIT who have (lovingly) supported me and helped me see my own worth and potential as a leader and active participant in the wellness industry.
