Meet Janine Forte

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Janine Forte again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Janine, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Here’s an update:
Five Star Hippie® began in Los Angeles as a passion project, crafting yoga-inspired malas and crystal jewelry infused with intention. Over the years, the brand has expanded to New York and Miami, but my journey has evolved as well. While I continue to honor Five Star Hippie’s mission, my heart is now fully devoted to teaching—guiding others on their path to mindfulness, movement, and self-discovery.
As a Mindfulness Teacher, I specialize in yoga, meditation, and energy work, leading public and private classes, immersive workshops, international retreats, and 200-hour yoga teacher trainings. My mission is to help others cultivate deeper awareness, presence, and connection—both on and off the mat.
I’m also thrilled to share that I wrote a book, A Beginner’s Guide to Living Mindfully, available on Amazon. It’s a practical, accessible guide to integrating mindfulness into everyday life, offering simple yet powerful tools to bring more peace, clarity, and balance to your daily routine.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since our last conversation, my journey has evolved in the most incredible way! I’ve transitioned from creating jewelry that fosters healing, well-being, and mindfulness on the outside to creating yoga classes, workshops, retreats, and trainings that cultivate healing, well-being, and mindfulness from the inside out.
One of the things that truly lights me up is leading international yoga retreats—these aren’t just getaways, they’re mindful adventures that awaken the body, mind, and soul. My next retreat is happening in Mallorca, Spain, this June, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to host in such a magical place. I typically offer 3-4 retreats per year, so stay tuned for more chances to join.
Beyond retreats, I’m deeply passionate about workshops and community classes because I believe yoga and meditation should be accessible to everyone. Creating spaces for collective healing and connection fuels my heart and purpose.
I’m also excited about leading hybrid 200-hour yoga teacher trainings through One Yoga International®, a platform I created to offer online access to yoga and meditation classes and trainings. This hybrid training approach blends online lessons and practice with a week-long immersive experience, where we’ll dive deep into practice teaching and self-exploration. It’s a transformative journey, and I can’t wait to share it with those ready to deepen their practice or step into their power as teachers.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

Was there a moment in your career that you can tell us about that illustrates or demonstrates the kind of person you are, your approach, ethos, etc.
There have been several defining moments in my career that truly reflect the kind of person I am. I believe one of my greatest strengths is my ability to really see people—not just at the surface level, but to truly acknowledge them. I believe that everyone wants to feel seen and valued, and I make it a priority to offer that respect and presence in every interaction.
Another key attribute I possess is my intuition and deep sensitivity to energy. I have a strong felt-sense, which allows me to recognize when a person, place, or situation is no longer serving me. Just as important as knowing when to start something is knowing when to let go—whether that’s a project, a business, or anything that no longer aligns with my path.
For example, I once built a successful jewelry brand, but over time, it no longer felt in alignment with where I was meant to be. Rather than forcing it to continue, I trusted my intuition, gracefully closed the business, and moved forward into the next phase of my journey. I’ve applied this same mindset in many aspects of my life—including relationships, but that’s a conversation for another day! 😉
