Meet Robert Keefe | Actor & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Keefe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, what matters most to you?
Appreciate everyone who gives you their time, because it’s something that can never be given back. Embrace every opportunity that life presents to you, because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
Whenever family events happen or if friends want to spend their time with me, I try to make the most of those occasions, because otherwise I am always doing my best to be on set when I can. As actors, people put their trust in us to bring stories to life, from paper to screen or stage, and those opportunities don’t come around every day. I have had the honour of working with some wonderfully talented people during my career so far, and I never take it for granted. So I do my best to give the best I can to everything that I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As I mentioned, my parents gave my siblings and I the best upbringing and supported us with our aspirations. They helped provide me with a background in musical theatre before moving me to a more screen-based performing arts school, which gave me the foundation of confidence for going on auditions. I also used this time to start changing my birth accent from a northern English accent to a more “general British accent” as a way of both being able to book more work and working on creating a convincing American accent that fit with my vocal range.
Fast forward to living in the US, and I was doing in-person auditions and working on projects. Then the pandemic happened. I thought that I might not have the ability to keep pursuing work because the industry was shut down. I used this time to get back into better shape and take care of my body and mind again as well as finally watch a lot of shows and films that I had been meaning to watch.
Thankfully I made the decision to switch jobs when the restrictions in Los Angeles were lifted and this lead to me getting my SAG eligibility.
I started to book a few short films and make new connections, and then I started to book a few vertical format roles. These productions turn around so fast and are always filming, so working well with others and being told you are easy to work with gets you brought back. I always say that it costs nothing to be nice and that we are all there trying to make the best product possible, so we should all have fun whilst doing so. The sets where we can be serious and give our best performances when the cameras are rolling and then be laughing with each other as if we’re lifelong friends are always the ones I relish being on.
I try to find work that creates a diverse repertoire of roles, mixing in action with drama and comedy and romance. I will happily go back to a role I have played before if it means working with a familiar cast and crew as well, and I have had the privilege of working multiple times with actors and crew on multiple occasions who I now can consider good friends.
I was reminded from all of this that there is no one perfect path towards the career you aspire to have. No person is made the same, nor are our careers. That’s what makes us all unique. Don’t be the next person. Be the first “you”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being outdoors, whether it’s exercising, sports games theme parks or the beach.
Driving down the PCH to Carpinteria Beach, not far away from Santa Barbara, is the favourite spot. It’s a nice, quiet town so you can relax, no traffic noise and support small businesses with food and drinks. There’s a wonderful little burger place called The Spot with amazing burgers and shakes that always hit the spot.
Day trips out east towards Joshua Tree, or Big Bear for skiing, depending on the season, as well as Disney Land with park hopper passes or 6 Flags.
Growing up in a sports-heavy family, if there are Lakers, Rams or Dodgers games happening whilst friends or family are in town, we try to get to a live game because the stadium atmosphere always hits differently.
For food and drinks, I love my valley spots. Porto’s Bakery is a must, Laurel Tavern for a fun patio drink or two with friends, grabbing birrieria tacos late at night. Unfortunately, a few spots were lost during the fires in January of 2025, so it just means that new places have to be found and enjoyed. Anywhere with a nice, scenic view, day and night, is appreciated.
I also recently filmed abroad in China which opened my eyes to authentic Asian cuisine. Having grown up being introduced to it at young age, it deepened my appreciation for it even more and made me want to discover more spots in LA to go with friends and family.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family, first and foremost. My mum and dad, brother and sister and my grandparents, all helped shape me growing up. My parents have the most amazing marriage and gave me the best upbringing I could’ve asked for, spending money on my siblings and I that they didn’t necessarily have, all in order to give us the best chance at success with whatever we wanted to pursue. They have always been supportive of us and always let us know how proud they are of our journeys, all of which are different.
Being the middle of three, I had a great balance of watching my older brother have success as well as certain things not to do, but then also being able to be the older brother to my younger sister and watch her become the incredible woman she is today. The three of us are the best of friends.
I’m lucky that I have a very supportive partner who is my rock when I get home from work and she makes my life so much easier, whether it’s the big things or the little things.
During the difficult times when being on my own, my closest friend helped me get out of many a dark place. I would’ve struggled immensely had it not been for her constantly being in my corner, helping me along the way and being that family I needed when I live so far away from my family.
