Meet Trina Haire | Licensed Aesthetician & Permanent Make up tattoo artist.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trina Haire and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trina, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I’ve shown my 3 kids that you can do anything you work hard towards. All of the dreams and goals I make for myself, I achieve them because I know that I can do it if I work hard enough. My kids understand that you can choose the life that you want because I show them that everyday. I chose to work for myself regardless of the initial fears, and it’s turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and for them. I’m able to be there for all of their activities while also creating my own schedule, income, and accomplishments.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I opened Face Appeal Beauty after a career change from being a professional Broadway dancer. I started a family and wanted to be there for them, but couldn’t find the balance in my dance career to do that, so I decided to tap into another thing I loved. Skin. I earned my esthetician license and worked at a spa for 3 years before opening Face Appeal Beauty. From there, I began my eyebrow tattooing and my business has been successful ever since.
What sets Face Appeal apart is my love for the art. My clients feel like family, they feel comfortable with me and they know that I strive to give them the best possible results. I truly care. And that shows through my work.
I’m most proud of myself and my resilience. In 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, and I didn’t let it stop me from doing what I loved. Although, I didn’t let modify my work so that my health improved, it never made me give up. I continued working when I felt ok and it pushed me to keep going. From then on, it’s been very successful.
My business was a work in progress. I came into it with no experience in how to run a business so I had lots of trial and error. But through those errors of booking people, not having set policies, etc., those lessons made my business what it is today. I’m proud of how smooth and organized I make things for my clients while also making sure everything is ran professionally and efficiently.
I want the world to understand that nothing this amazing comes easy. It took lots of time and patience to get where I am today. But because I am where I am today, it doesn’t mean I stop there. I continued working to use my business as a stepping stone for the next thing or for more goals I have for myself and my family. I do all of this so that my children can grow up choosing what they love to do without the burden of financial struggles. They are literally the reason I keep continuing to grow my business and my investments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, if it’s in my area, I would start at Disneyland! I’m a pass holder! I truly believe that Disney is who you go with. So we’d have a blast.
I tend to love the outdoor nature, so we would definitely go to Laguna or Malibu to have some of the finest seafood on the beach and maybe hit a rooftop live jazz lounge.
My ideal day is always trying out food, (Japanese and Thai are my favorites) and hearing a live band or visiting a fun museum.
Then we would end the day at the spa for a relaxing massage and pamper session.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my husband. His support for my business has definitely played a part in how successful it’s become. Starting my business in 2013 was extremely hard, especially because he supported our family through all the beginning stages. The unwavering support is the reason I kept going and wanted to prove that we can do it no matter the circumstances.
