We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris W and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kris, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I believe risk is necessary in order to set the life that you want. I used to work a full time corporate job where I would have to go in the office 5 days a week and I decided that this wasn’t making me happy and not the balance that I wanted. I ended up taking a huge risk and quitting the job to pursue a life in social media and I felt that was the best decision for me. I am now currently working fully remote for a social media company doing what I love as well as making money from my personal food account. This has given me the work life balance that I hoped for and really enjoy where I am now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I shoot and edit content for restaurants and put my very own twist on it giving people tips on what to order and what to avoid! I believe my content helps small business get the word out about their restaurant by making their food look visually appetizing to the viewers. I really enjoy what I do since I can try and eat so many delicious foods while helping the business create marketing materials that they originally may not have been able to do. It definitely started slow and there are ups and downs but I know that I am creating authentic content that people might resonate with!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so many things to do in LA! I would take them on a food adventure by starting the day off at Courage Bagels for a zesty “run it through the garden” bagel and then Stagger Coffee for a pick me up matcha. For lunch, lets head to the Grove for some shopping and Sogno Tuscano, an italian restaurant that has the best burrata. For dinner, I recommend going to a Korean bar restaurant called JJAN! They have so many shareable delicious bites and is a great place to meet up with friends. If they want to go clubbing, my favorite spots are Sound and Academy nightclub if you’re into electronic music!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank @firstdateguide Ashley for hiring me and giving me the tools I need to be successful! She is so inspirational and always has the biggest welcoming smile.
