We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick And Sarah Simile and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick and Sarah, what do you attribute your success to?
While capturing visually compelling and technically sound photographs is essential in our line of work, we believe what truly sets us apart—and has contributed most to our success—is the way we consistently go above and beyond for our clients.
There are so many talented photographers out there, but we’ve found that the experience we create for our couples is what really makes the difference. From the very beginning, we prioritize building a relationship with each couple. We hold multiple meetings before the big day, help craft or refine timelines (and sometimes even create them entirely if there’s no coordinator), and we make ourselves constantly available—often texting back and forth with our couples to answer all kinds of questions, even ones that aren’t photography-related.
We scout unfamiliar venues ahead of time—often with our couples—so we can understand their vision and map out the best spots for portraits and golden hour magic. We send out a pre-wedding questionnaire to learn about any special traditions, sentimental items, or unique details we should capture. We also help create the formal photo list, ensuring no one important is missed.
And then there are the little things—we’ll often bring a bottle of celebratory champagne (if they drink), and we always show up with a calm, positive energy. We know that, as photographers, we’re with the couple more than almost any other vendor on their wedding day, and we don’t take that lightly. We pride ourselves on being a calming presence and are always ready to help solve any hiccups with a smile and a clear head.
It’s all these personal touches—big and small—that we believe set us apart and allow our couples to feel genuinely supported. The hardest part is showing all of this to potential clients before we’re booked—but once they’re with us, they feel it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our art is all about capturing connection—raw, real, and wildly beautiful. We’re a husband and wife duo who’ve been together since high school, and that deep, long-lasting love is what fuels our passion for telling love stories through photography. For us, it’s never just about snapping pretty pictures. It’s about freezing time in the most emotional, cinematic, and honest way possible.

What sets us apart is our mix of warm, moody tones and dramatic landscapes with fun, candid energy. We thrive outdoors—on windswept cliffs, in golden fields, on the beach at sunset—anywhere nature shows off. We’re not about stiff poses or cookie-cutter moments. We want our couples to feel something when they look back at their photos—to remember how it all felt, not just how it looked.

We’re most proud of the way we’ve built our business from the ground up, together. It definitely wasn’t easy. Like many creatives, we started with a dream, some basic gear, and a lot of late nights learning, failing, and trying again. One of our biggest challenges was learning how to find our voice in a saturated industry—and staying true to it. But with time, we leaned into what felt most like us and stopped trying to be everything to everyone.

We’ve learned that the magic happens when you show up authentically. When you stop chasing trends and start creating work that’s personal and honest, the right clients find you. We’ve also learned that it’s okay to evolve. Our style, our voice, our confidence—it’s all grown over time, just like our relationship.

What we want the world to know about us and our brand is this: we don’t take it lightly when someone invites us into their most important moments. We’re not just photographers—we’re storytellers, hype crew, emotional support team, and memory-makers. Our job is to help you feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated.

This is more than a job to us—it’s our calling. And we’re endlessly grateful for every couple who lets us be part of their love story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu. It is such a great hang spot and the drive there is absolutely stunning!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
